Job description

The Opportunity
As Manager, Community Platform Growth, you’ll help grow AMA’s two-sided Marketplace by bringing more trusted service providers, sellers and consumers together. Reporting to the Director, Marketplace Exchange, you’ll lead acquisition, onboarding and engagement strategies across the Services Marketplace and Product Marketplace.
This is a strategic, hybrid role for a relationship builder and growth thinker who can turn data, partnerships, digital campaigns and AI-assisted tools into measurable marketplace results. You’ll work across Marketing, Product, Engineering, Design, Operations and other AMA teams to strengthen the member experience and scale the platform.

A Place to Belong
AMA is more than a workplace; it’s a family. Together, we help protect the things that matter most to our more than one-million members—everything from roadside safety to retail savings, food security to childhood well-being. And with operations that span automotive, registries, travel, insurance and more, the opportunities to grow with us are almost limitless!
For us, curiosity fuels innovation. We value people who are eager to explore new ideas and who are comfortable putting emerging technologies into practice. We see experience with AI‑powered tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and similar platforms as a real plus - especially when it’s used to work smarter, increase efficiency, and find better ways to get things done.

Building on a century of proud service in Alberta communities, we’re passionate about making a meaningful difference in the places where we live and work. And that all begins with our people. As part of the AMA team, you’ll enjoy:

  • Competitive salary and flexible benefits, with five packages to choose from and up to $3,000 in health and wellness spending accounts.
  • Employer-paid retirement savings program, including 5% AMA contribution and 5% matching.
  • Employee-exclusive discounts on travel, insurance, memberships, driver education, registry services, and more.
  • Free travel medical insurance for you and your immediate family.
  • Ongoing professional development, with unlimited learning opportunities, LinkedIn Learning Access, and dedicated time for personal growth.
  • Paid vacation and personal days, including three weeks of vacation to start, a Me Day, a Volunteer Day, and the option to purchase additional vacation time.
  • Flexible work models that make sense for your lifestyle, including our four-day work week option: Alongside our other work models, this option gives you another way to harmonize work and life in a way that’s personally meaningful and aligned with your role. Available to eligible fully in-office and fully remote roles, with tailored guidelines to fit department-specific needs. Requires a 12-month commitment; eligible employees can opt in or opt out annually during the benefit renewal period.

Who You Are

  • A strategic growth leader who understands the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces and supply-side participation.
  • A strong communicator and relationship builder who can engage providers, sellers, partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and outcomes-focused, with the ability to interpret funnel and pipeline data and turn insights into action.
  • Self-directed and organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities and leading initiatives independently.
  • Collaborative by nature, with the ability to work effectively across Marketing, Product, Engineering, Design and Operations.
  • Curious about digital tools, automation and AI-assisted workflows that can extend personal and team capacity.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract qualified service providers across target trades, service categories and geographic regions in Alberta.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective service providers and product sellers through outreach campaigns, partnerships and referral programs.
  • Partner with Marketplace Operations to manage onboarding, including vetting requirements, profile setup, platform orientation and consistent entry standards.
  • Monitor onboarding conversion rates and time-to-active metrics, identifying and resolving friction points in the acquisition funnel.
  • Define and manage growth targets for the Services Marketplace and Product Marketplace with the Director, Marketplace Exchange.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications and other stakeholders on campaigns that drive awareness and acquisition among providers, sellers, members and non-members.
  • Build and manage pre-booking, booking, service and post-service journeys for consumers and service providers, partnering with Marketing Automation and Digital teams on alerts and notifications.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, trade associations, member organizations and community channels that accelerate provider and seller recruitment.
  • Analyze growth performance and report on acquisition KPIs, recommending evidence-based adjustments to strategy for the Director and executive leaders.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering and Design on platform improvements, requirements gathering, solutioning, testing and go-to-market planning.
  • Work with AI Operations & Transformation to design, build and deploy AI agents that support lead generation, outreach, onboarding and marketplace operations.
  • Maintain onboarding materials, playbooks and guides, support provider and seller re-engagement, and participate in Marketplace risk management.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience managing acquisition funnels, onboarding pipelines or partner recruitment programs.
  • Experience working in a two-sided marketplace, platform business or membership-based environment is an asset.
  • Direct experience preferred with CRM tools, digital outreach platforms and data-driven performance management.
  • Experience working with Product, Design and Engineering teams to deliver B2C or B2B digital capabilities to market.
  • Experience with go-to-market processes and working with Marketing teams to bring products to market.
  • Experience working with or alongside AI-assisted tools for automation, lead generation or workflow management is an asset.
