Job description

We don’t just manage waste; we rethink how industry handles it.

At Pure Environmental we’re building world-class facilities, meeting the highest of industry standards, for the energy and industrial sectors. From geothermal waste cavern facilities to engineered landfills, our work supports operations across the full lifecycle—from exploration to end of life.

Who We Are

We’re a team built on experience, but we don’t just operate on the status-quo.

We’ve spent decades in environmental and energy services, and we’ve seen what works (and what doesn’t). That’s why we do things things simply, safely, and properly, with a strong focus on innovation and critical thinking.

We operate in markets that are often underserved, where dependable infrastructure is critical. Our facilities are designed to provide the systems and support these markets actually need, not just check boxes.

At Pure, our employees take ownership. We look out for each other, and we take pride in running clean, compliant, and well-managed operations.

If you like straightforward work, a strong team, and a place where your judgment is trusted, you’ll fit in well.

Our Values

How we work matters as much as what we achieve. Our values shape our culture and guide our decisions:

  • Building Empowered Leaders - We encourage ownership, initiative, and leadership at every level.
  • Integrity - We act with honesty, accountability, and do what’s right.
  • Growth & Innovation - We stay curious, continuously improve, and embrace new ideas.
  • Open & Honest Communication - We value transparency, direct feedback, and respectful dialogue.

This role isn’t about “keeping things running.”

It’s about leading the operation.

As the Manager, Martin Hills Landfill Facility, you are accountable for the overall performance of the facility and landfill including safety, compliance, people, and profitability. You’ll lead the team, work closely with customers, and ensure that both operate efficiently and to the highest standards every day.

This role is both strategic and hands-on. You’ll set direction, solve problems in real time, and build a culture of ownership and accountability across the site.

If you’re someone who leads by example, takes ownership, and knows how to balance people, operations, and performance this is your kind of role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead all day-to-day facility and landfill operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient performance
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing operations team, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Own site health and safety programs, including safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster a strong safety culture where accountability is shared across the team
  • Ensure full compliance with all environmental and regulatory approvals, maintaining proper documentation and audit readiness
  • Maintain strong working relationships with regulators and stay ahead of regulatory changes impacting operations
  • Oversee acceptance and handling of incoming materials in accordance with permits and approvals
  • Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and audit trails for all material movement and site activity
  • Manage site equipment, maintenance programs, and third-party contractors to ensure reliability and uptime
  • Issue and oversee Safe Work Permits, ensuring all work is conducted safely and in compliance
  • Act as the primary point of contact on-site, supporting logistics, issue resolution, and relationship management
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities for service expansion and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with operations, commercial, and engineering teams to align on priorities and execute initiatives
  • Support and oversee facility projects, including scope, execution, and commissioning
  • Monitor site performance, costs, and productivity, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Manage CRM and operational systems to ensure accurate reporting, data integrity, and pipeline visibility where applicable
  • Ensure all administrative and regulatory reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Represent the facility and landfill during audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions

What Makes You a Great Fit

You’re someone who takes ownership and leads by example. You also:

  • Have strong operational experience in industrial, environmental, or energy services
  • Bring leadership experience managing teams in a field or facility environment
  • Have a solid mechanical understanding and are comfortable working around equipment
  • Understand that safety and compliance aren’t optional, they’re the foundation of the job
  • Can balance hands-on involvement with leadership, planning, and administrative responsibilities
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with teams, customers, and stakeholders
  • Stay organized, decisive, and reliable in a fast-paced environment
  • Take pride in running a clean, compliant, and high-performing operation
