Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Product Marketing with a deep understanding of HR and the ability to market to senior HR leaders, to develop and drive our product marketing practice.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, applying a fluid understanding of HR, customer segmentation, and the buyer journey to create the messaging, content, and value propositions that differentiate McLean & Company in the market and form the marketing foundation for our campaigns.
This is a key strategic role. Initially, it is heavily focused on rebuilding collateral and value propositions across every McLean & Company product and service line. Over time, it expands into product market planning and strategy, account-based marketing programs, sales enablement, and the integrated go-to-market process. We need a strong, experienced product marketing leader who will build and guide a next-gen product marketing function, bringing years of B2B experience and industry best practices to create an inspired, structured discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Collateral & Value Proposition Development (~70%)
- Audit all existing collateral across McLean’s product and service lines, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and outdated messaging.
- Identify and prioritize collateral requirements and collaborate with Product Management and Design to build and update key pieces.
- Rebuild and rewrite collateral (one-pagers, sales sheets, decks, and related assets) product by product, service by service.
- Develop a clear, differentiated value proposition for each offering, following the model used for Executive Services.
- Build messaging frameworks, including key messages, benefits, and target personas, in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ensure consistency in voice, positioning, and quality across all materials.
Go-to-Market Strategy & Sales Enablement (~30%)
- Enable sellers to articulate the competitive value, buyer mindset, and unique differentiation of our offerings.
- Collaborate with Sales to produce sales and marketing plays, offers, and playbooks.
- Develop marketing strategy for new product launches, tiered account-based marketing programs, and packaging to drive impact across industries, buyers, and accounts.
- Guide marketing peers in creating social, campaign content, web copy, and derivative assets, providing context and insight into the HR buyer mindset.
- Inform the integrated go-to-market strategy, coordinating across stakeholders and divisions to drive consistent, transparent execution.
- Support the launch of new products and services with positioning, sales enablement, and marketing materials.
Key Selection Criteria
- College degree (BA/BS).
- 7+ years in product marketing, content strategy, or a related B2B marketing role, preferably in HR, professional services, or SaaS.
- Strong writing and messaging skills, with the ability to turn complex offerings into clear, compelling value propositions.
- Proven experience managing large enterprise B2B projects at scale in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, and comfort owning a large volume of deliverables end to end, from audit through rebuild.
- Experience partnering with Sales on go-to-market execution.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment, managing change and multitasking across projects and teams.
- Experience creating content for core HR functions or capabilities, such as talent management, workforce planning, total rewards, HR analytics, and AI in HR.
- Experience targeting CHROs and HR leaders as customers.
Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in French, Spanish or German is preferred to support our diverse client base across North America and globally.
