Position Overview

The Technical Lead, Integrations is a hands-on, customer-facing leader responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting secure, reliable integrations across Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, cloud platforms, EDI, Value-Added Networks (VANs) such as GHX, and third-party applications. The role works directly with customers, business teams, trading partners, and vendors to understand needs, recommend practical solutions, and lead delivery from discovery through implementation and support. Success requires initiative, attention to detail, strong problem-solving, sound technical judgement, and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of integrations across Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, cloud services, business applications, and external partner systems.
  • Build and support APIs, EDI, VAN, middleware, secure file-transfer, and flat-file integrations, including mappings, transformations, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Translate business, data, security, and operational requirements into practical technical designs and specifications.
  • Recommend solutions that balance security, reliability, scalability, maintainability, cost, and supportability.
  • Establish integration standards and reusable patterns, review technical solutions, and ensure compliance with architecture, security, privacy, and operational requirements.
  • Lead customer, vendor, and technical discussions; clarify requirements, challenge unnecessary complexity, and communicate recommendations, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate vendors, environments, testing, releases, cutover, and production stabilization, and maintain clear technical and support documentation.
  • Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot complex issues, complete root-cause analysis, and implement lasting improvements to reliability and supportability.
  • Integration solution design and delivery: Lead the hands-on design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation of integrations across Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, cloud services, APIs, middleware, EDI, VANs such as GHX, flat files, and third-party systems. Define interface requirements, mappings, secure transport, validation, acknowledgements, error handling, and support procedures. Recommend solutions that balance reliability, security, maintainability, performance, cost, and business value.
  • Technical leadership and standards: Establish integration standards, reusable patterns, security controls, monitoring, versioning, and documentation practices. Lead technical reviews, identify risks and dependencies, and guide internal teams and delivery partners to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and operational needs.
  • Operational reliability and problem resolution: Monitor integration health, troubleshoot cross-platform incidents, complete root-cause analysis, and implement lasting corrective actions. Improve monitoring, error handling, support procedures, and service resilience, and provide hands-on support during releases, upgrades, and production stabilization.
  • Customer, vendor, and stakeholder partnership: Act as the primary customer-facing technical lead for assigned integration initiatives. Build trusted relationships, lead discovery and technical discussions, clarify requirements, present recommendations and risks in clear business language, and confirm alignment before delivery. Coordinate vendor development, customer testing, onboarding, cutover, and transition to support. Communicate proactively, manage expectations, lead technical escalations, and retain ownership through resolution and follow-up.

Skills and Competencies

  • Hands-on expertise designing, building, testing, and supporting integrations using APIs, web services, EDI, VANs, flat files, middleware, and data-integration technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI processing, trading-partner onboarding, mapping, acknowledgements, secure file transfer, and VAN services such as GHX.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, integration patterns, REST/SOAP services, JSON/XML, security, monitoring, error handling, and source control.
  • Detail-oriented problem solver who takes initiative, exercises sound judgement, and drives work and issues to completion.
  • Strong customer-facing communicator who builds trust, facilitates discovery and design discussions, listens actively, manages expectations, and explains technical options and risks in clear business language.
  • Organized, collaborative, and service-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate vendors and trading partners, maintain clear documentation, and remain appropriately firm on standards and commitments.
