At Long View, we create an environment of collaboration and support, of innovation and enthusiasm, of inclusion and belonging. As a member of the Long View team, you’ll see how our company’s core pillars — Integrity, Competence, Value, and Fun — resonate through the workplace. And in a recent survey, 89% of Long View team members rated Long View as a good or great place to work!

Are you someone who thrives in client-facing environments, building strong relationships through technical credibility and thoughtful advice? Do you enjoy collaborating with project teams and providing technical leadership throughout solution delivery?

We are looking for an engaging and versatile Network Technical Architect to join our BC branch based out of Vancouver to help turn business challenges into well-designed network solutions!

As a Network Technical Architect, you combine strong technical expertise with exceptional consulting skills to design client environments and lead technical delivery with support when needed. You earn trust through thoughtful advice, disciplined documentation and follow-through—putting client needs and experience at the centre of every engagement. Bring your expertise to varied client environments, shape meaningful technical decisions and grow alongside a collaborative team.

A Day in the Life:

Serve as the hands-on network technical lead, translating business requirements into architecture and guiding implementation through successful operational handover

  • Lead solution design and implementation planning for small project teams, providing technical guidance and coaching to junior consultants

  • Own technical delivery within PM-led projects, aligning with project direction and providing timely updates on progress, risks, dependencies and decisions to the project manager, who retains overall project accountability

  • Lead client discovery on-site and remotely; translate business needs into practical network architectures, explain trade-offs and recommend solutions with a clear focus on quality and value

  • Produce clear, accurate architecture documentation: conceptual, logical and physical designs, bills of materials, as-built diagrams, knowledge transfer materials, FAQs and transition-to-operations information

  • Set technical direction and coordinate with stakeholders and Long View practices to resolve issues, manage dependencies and deliver on commitments

  • Maintain relevant industry certifications and accreditations aligned with key practices and technology partners

  • Build lasting client relationships through attentive listening, candid advice, proactive communication and reliable follow-through

  • Support pre-sales discovery, solution development, effort estimation and technical qualification by providing technical input to the team leading the opportunity

  • Contribute technical expertise to government audits and special programs relevant to assigned technology areas

What You Bring:

7+ years of industry experience working as a Network Subject Matter Expert

  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering network solutions across several of the following technologies:

    • Routing and switching

    • Firewalls: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto

    • Network access control: Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and/or Aruba ClearPass

    • Wireless

    • Cisco Duo

    • Proven network architecture and documentation skills, with the judgement to solve business problems and independently lead the technical delivery of projects on-site and remotely

    • Familiarity with networking considerations for Microsoft cloud and hybrid environments, including Azure and Microsoft 365

    • Exceptional consulting skills: ask thoughtful questions, listen closely, navigate difficult conversations and provide honest, client-first recommendations

What Makes You Extra Awesome:

    Post-secondary education is an asset.

  • Relevant networking certifications are preferred, with an expectation to maintain appropriate certifications aligned with key technologies and partners

  • Previous experience with:

  • DevNet

  • Cloud Networking

  • Software-defined WAN (SD-WAN)

  • Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)

  • Cisco Umbrella

  • Server Infrastructure experience

  • Cisco Unified Communications (Voice)

Why Work at Long View:

  • Career growth – Permanent staff positions, paid training, career life planning, and relocation and travel opportunities
