Job Description:

This is a part-time, off-site role supporting Puppy Sphere’s private events. We’re looking for motivated, upbeat, and hard-working team members to join our Pack! 🐾

As a Private Event Facilitator, you’ll play a key role in delivering memorable Puppy Sphere experiences at a variety of venues. From setup through to breakdown, you’ll help ensure each event runs smoothly while creating a fun, positive experience for our guests and prioritising the safety and wellbeing of both people and puppies.

Weekday availability is essential, and flexibility is important as shifts will vary depending on private event bookings. Regular shifts are not guaranteed, so this role is ideal for someone looking for flexible, occasional work. Weekend availability is a plus!

The rate for this role is $18.00 CAD per hour.

Job Responsibilities:

Event Operations:

  • Support onsite and offsite private events, including event setup and teardown, transportation of equipment, and creating an engaging, positive experience for guests.
  • Set up the studio and puppy area at the start of each shift, ensuring everything is clean, organized, and ready for guests and pups.
  • Assist with setting up themed decor for events when required.
  • Welcome and check in guests, creating a warm, friendly, and well-organized arrival experience.
  • Confidently lead welcome and closing speeches in front of classes throughout the day.
  • Support the care of puppies throughout the day, including cleaning, providing water/food as needed, and ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
  • Conduct welcome briefings throughout the shift, setting expectations and creating a positive, engaging start to each class.
  • Deliver a high-quality wellness experience by being present, attentive, and responsive to guest needs throughout the event.
  • Actively monitor puppy wellbeing and guide guests on appropriate handling to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by managing puppy clean-ups during and between classes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization across all areas of the venue, including the puppy space, beverage station, and common areas.
  • Support smooth transitions, ensuring spaces are reset quickly and efficiently.
  • Help build a strong sense of community by creating moments that keep guests coming back.
  • Use sound judgment and take initiative to proactively address challenges and support a positive event experience.
  • Work closely with the wider team to ensure smooth event delivery, proactively identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Embrace change and support the implementation of new processes and initiatives, helping ensure they land smoothly onsite.
  • Escalate any concerns relating to guest experience, team dynamics, or puppy wellbeing to supervisors or management in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and animal welfare guidelines at all times.
  • Support with necessary report forms, such as Animal Welfare, Studio Inventory, and End-of-Day reports, and adapt to evolving priorities and operational needs as they arise.
  • Complete end-of-day sanitization procedures for the studio and puppy areas to maintain a clean, safe environment and prevent cross-contamination between litters.
  • Uphold a positive and respectful attitude, and demonstrate enthusiasm to ensure all team members and guests feel welcomed.
  • Consistently role model Puppy Sphere’s core values and mission, creating a positive, collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team culture and environment.
  • Act proactively and address tasks without waiting for direction (studio cleaning, puppy accidents, anticipating guest needs).

Job Requirements:

  • Availability to work weekdays (at least one day per week)
  • Availability for a minimum of 4 shifts per month
  • Additional weekend availability is a strong plus
  • Weekday shifts are scheduled based on confirmed events, and a regular or consistent schedule is not guaranteed.
  • Experience in the service or hospitality industry is preferred
  • A warm, engaging, and outgoing personality that helps create a welcoming and positive experience
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing startup environment where things evolve quickly and adaptability is key.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including throughout the duration of events.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive motions as required during event setup, execution, and breakdown.
  • Comfortable working with standard cleaning supplies and solutions, following proper safety and handling guidelines.
  • Ability to work in environments with moderate noise levels, animals present, and high guest interaction.
  • Bonus if you have access to a car and ability to drive.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Goes above and beyond to create an exceptional experience
  • Is a true team player: proactive, supportive, and collaborative
  • Embodies our values in everything they do
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Stays organized and can multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Is kind, thoughtful, and genuinely cares about creating a positive experience for every guest
