Job description

We're accepting applications now and will begin active recruitment in September/October 2026.

Altea is Canada's premier fitness and wellness destination. Multiple boutique studios, modern recovery, and lifestyle amenities, all under one roof, for one membership. We bring together the quality of a standalone boutique with the breadth of a full service club, and we deliver an experience that members build their week around. We are the membership members actually use. Everything we do is designed to deliver a premium member experience.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Padel is one of the fastest growing racquet sports in the world, and it is new to a lot of our members. For many of them, you will be their first introduction to the game.

You lead that introduction, structured clinics that build real technique and open play sessions that turn a new sport into a habit. How you show up on court shapes whether padel takes root inside the club.

WHO YOU ARE

You do not need to be a touring professional. You need to know the game well, love sharing it, and be the kind of person who makes every player on the court feel like they are exactly where they should be.

You are patient and technically grounded. You can break the game down clearly for someone who has never held a padel racquet, and challenge a player who has been competing for years, and both walk away better. You show up prepared, your clinics have a plan, and your courts are ready before the first player arrives.

You do not wait to be told. You see a player on the sideline who looks uncertain and you bring them in. You are community minded, padel is inherently social, and you lean into that, introducing people, remembering names, and building the kind of atmosphere that makes the court feel like a destination, not just a surface.

If you've been looking for a place that matches your standard, this is it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and deliver skill based padel clinics for players at every level, so beginners build confidence and developing players sharpen technique
  • Run organized, well paced open play sessions where court rotation is managed fairly and every participant, regardless of level, feels like they belong
  • Introduce members to padel and grow the community around it, building the kind of court culture that makes them stay
  • Represent the Altea standard in every session, your professionalism, preparation, and care for participants is part of the experience

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Demonstrated padel experience, playing, coaching, or facilitating at any level
  • Comfortable leading groups of mixed abilities in both structured clinic and open play formats
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a warm, clear communicator who builds an inclusive and energizing court environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and self directed, sessions are planned in advance and delivered with consistency
  • Padel Canada certification or equivalent coaching credential is an asset but not required
  • Criminal Background Check required prior to commencement

WHAT YOU'LL EARN

There is no hourly wage tied to this role. In its place, you receive a complimentary individual Altea membership for the full length of your time in the role, real, ongoing access to everything inside the club.

  • Full access to every fitness class on the schedule
  • Every recovery modality Altea offers
  • Every other amenity inside the club

It is not a token perk. For someone who already loves this sport and this community, it is a genuinely significant benefit, and a great way to stay immersed in the club you are helping build.

We are an equal opportunity employer and believe in treating everyone fairly regardless of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, national origin, language, citizenship, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, gender identity, gender expression, record of offences, disability, or any other legally protected factors. Accommodations are available upon request.

AI Disclosure: To support our hiring process, artificial intelligence based tools may be used to assist with screening and assessment activities, alongside human review.

We thank you for your interest; however, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
