With more than 25 years of experience in maintenance software, OneRiver provides cloud-based solutions that enhance existing ERP environments. Our solutions, Arrow and Cornerstone, integrate with SAP and Oracle environments and connect critical maintenance data across ERP and other systems.

Our customers operate in asset-intensive industries including oil & gas, mining, chemicals, industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food & beverage, where maintenance performance directly affects reliability, productivity, safety, and profitability.

Position Summary

OneRiver is seeking a part-time IT support contractor to help create, maintain, and improve a secure, reliable, and efficient IT environment for its remote employees, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders. The contractor will provide day-to-day technical support, administer company systems, and help identify and address IT and security needs.

This is a hybrid arrangement, with work primarily performed remotely but with occasional on-site support in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, as agreed.

The services listed below are not exhaustive. The contractor may also be asked to provide other IT-related services as needs arise and the parties agree.

Responsibilities

  • Security and compliance: Administer and support SOC 2 and SecureFrame-related controls, evidence collection, access reviews, and remediation tracking.

  • Identity and access management: Manage user accounts, authentication, permissions, onboarding, role changes, and offboarding across company systems.

  • Networking and security: Maintain network and security tools, review configurations, troubleshoot connectivity, and help protect company devices, accounts, and data.

  • Domains and website: Manage domain registrations, DNS, renewals, website administration, and related access credentials.

  • File storage: Maintain the company’s corporate file storage system, including its structure, permissions, organization, and retention practices.

  • Productivity tools: Administer and support email, calendars, video conferencing, collaboration, and other productivity applications.

  • Employee IT support: Respond to employee technology requests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and provide guidance on IT practices.

  • IT needs assessment: Assess employee and business needs and recommend practical tools, configurations, and best practices.

  • Hardware inventory: Maintain an accurate inventory of company devices and related equipment, including assignments, status, and lifecycle needs.

  • Office audio/video: Support and maintain office audio/video equipment and troubleshoot meeting-room technology.

  • Documentation and continuity: Keep system configurations, procedures, inventory, and support activity documented so OneRiver can maintain and transition its IT operations effectively.

  • Additional IT services: Provide other IT-related services as mutually agreed from time to time.

Work Practices and Expectations

  • Work an agreed schedule of approximately 1–2 days per week, coordinating priorities and availability with OneRiver.

  • Acknowledge and handle support requests according to mutually agreed response times and priority levels.

  • Communicate clearly about open issues, risks, planned changes, and work completed.

  • Use approved accounts, tools, and procedures when accessing OneRiver systems and information.

  • Follow OneRiver security, confidentiality, and access-control requirements.

  • Obtain approval before making material changes to systems, purchasing equipment or services, or taking actions that may disrupt operations.

  • Escalate suspected security incidents, data exposure, or significant service outages promptly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience providing IT administration and support for a small or distributed organization.

  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English - both written and verbal.

  • Practical knowledge of identity management, productivity platforms, endpoint and network security, and common remote-work tools.

  • Familiarity with SOC 2 controls, SecureFrame, or similar compliance platforms.

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, prioritization, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while coordinating OneRiver personnel effectively.

  • Careful handling of confidential information and a security-conscious approach to IT administration.

Engagement Terms

The contractor will provide services as an independent contractor under a separate written agreement with OneRiver. Schedule, fees, service levels, approved tools, and any on-site requirements will be set out or confirmed separately.
