Job description

At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID).

Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:

Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.

Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.

Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.

About the role

This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means an average of 1 on-site day per week to attend our weekly architecture sessions. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.

As ATB’s next Solution Architect, you’ll be tasked with providing direction, guidance, and technical aptitude in delivering exceptional client experiences. The Solution Architect - Product is a technical leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and planning governance for platforms, tools, and projects as they are rolled out across the enterprise. This role bridges the gap between business needs, IT capabilities, application/vendor configuration and customization, applicable modules, and governance controls to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Accountabilities

  • Architectural Design: Lead the design of robust, scalable architectures primarily focused on home-grown solutions, configuration, customization and integration to various systems in and out of the ATB landscape.

  • Project Support: Be a go-to resource to support the project management and product delivery teams to ensure project goals are clear, technical requirements are defined, risks are identified, and relevant parties are present.

  • Technical Leadership: Act as the subject matter expert for Fraud detection and cybersecurity project implementation and integration best practices. Act as a bridge between data and security teams, software engineers, and product stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.

  • Strategic Vision: Align the long term goals of the various business units, technical roadmaps, and the enterprise. Ensure these are reasoned, captured and reflected in deliverables.

  • Module & Tool Selection: Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms that may best serve the multiple Fraud, AML and identity needs and initiatives in house and in future.

  • Define the Architectural Practice: Create and exercise new and existing standards, patterns, and best practices for the architecture group to follow.

  • Educating: Ensure that experiences are shared across the broader architecture and engineering groups to strengthen our knowledge and create more consistency and efficiency.

Skills, experience & requirements

  • Fraud and Cybersecurity Platforms Experience: Experience with integrating, configuring and implementing various fraud and security platforms into client and internal facing tools, particularly in the banking or finance sectors is an asset.

  • Banking Regulatory Practices: Familiarity with Canadian Banking practices, including compliance, reporting, and data practices would be beneficial.

  • Client Identity and Access Management Experience: Experience with integrating with SaaS based authentication and identity platforms into client and internal facing tools is an added advantage.

  • Solution Design Documentation: The key deliverable of the position - experience in understanding business and enterprise needs, and creating solution design documents for the engineering teams to use as their main guideline for implementation. The ability to communicate solution designs which are more technical in nature to non-technical team members would be a must have.

If you believe your skills and experience align with the role—but you might not check all the boxes—we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.

We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed—their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
