We need people like you.

We are seeking a Product Engineer to join our team at our Coaticook, QC site. Your mission: you will bridge the gap between a product idea and its manufacture. Your role is to properly define the foundation of all the manufacturing intelligence required to manage and build our products.

A Pivotal Role On A Large Team.

The successful candidate will contribute to the success of the company by assuming the following responsibilities:

  • Industrialize the products developed by the marketing and product development team, ensuring their manufacturability, quality and profitability.
  • Engineer our products with our plant’s and machines’ capabilities in mind, to build a quality product at the best cost and in the shortest lead time.
  • Define and maintain the product architecture: structures, bills of materials, manufacturing routings and construction rules.
  • Define, for each product, the raw materials, machining operations and cutting tools to be used (CAM), based on the capabilities of our CNC machines, to optimize quality, cost and lead time.
  • Design and validate the 2D drawings and 3D models required for manufacturing.
  • Ensure that the right information (drawings, cut lists, instructions and machine programs) is available at every workstation.
  • Synthesize the business rules presented in our catalogues and translate them into product configuration rules that are easy for our customers to use.
  • Define the questions and rules of our product configurator so that each order automatically generates the right parts, dimensions and operations, and order entry stays simple.
  • Understand the role of engineering data within our ecosystem of integrated management software (ERP, configurator, planning).
  • Work closely with the marketing, product development, production and IT teams to launch new products and bring them into production.
  • Lead, train and support a team of two employees; assign work, set priorities and guide their development.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of products, processes and engineering tools.
  • Represent, support, and uphold the company Core Values and Management Philosophy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Reputed Skills. Shared Values.

To successfully meet this challenge, we are looking for a person driven by the values of respect, teamwork, commitment, and pride with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a design-related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent command of mathematics, particularly trigonometry, which is essential to understanding the architecture of our products and engineering them properly.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product engineering or industrial drafting; manufacturing experience is a significant asset.
  • Knowledge of kitchen cabinets and their construction (asset).
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD drafting and 3D modelling.
  • Strong computer skills and programming logic (if / else conditions, and / or operators, variables) to write configuration rules.
  • Knowledge of multi-system environments (ERP, APS, MES, product configurator); experience with a product configurator is an asset.
  • Good understanding of the manufacturing processes, materials and CNC machines used in a cabinet plant (Homag, IMA, Biesse); experience in CAM (CAD/CAM) and machining programming is a significant asset.
  • Experience with design and manufacturing software such as Ève, AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, woodWOP and CutRite (asset).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing small teams.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required to support our English-speaking colleagues.

Great Benefits.

  • A friendly working environment
  • Competitive salary
  • Health & Dental benefits
  • RRSP Matching Program
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program
  • A team culture where everyone is important
  • Employee Recognition Program
  • And more!

Daily Life With A Human Dimension.

  • A great deal of autonomy where your ideas, talent, and initiative will be highly regarded
  • An open-door management approach that respects your personal needs and expectations
