Our values are based on providing a safe workplace for our employees and conducting business based on COMMIT – collaboration, operational excellence, mutual respect, making a difference, integrity and transparency.

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead and coach a team accountable for driving fill rate performance, achieving inventory budgets, and strong vendor execution across a diverse brand portfolio.

Reporting to the SVP Supply Chain & Systems, you will lead a team of six buyers managing 400+ vendors and brands across four warehouses.

Primary Responsibilities:

People Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead the day-to-day work and performance management of the purchasing team
  • Coach and develop purchasing team members to drive consistent execution and performance against fill rate, inventory, and service KPIs
  • Set clear priorities, expectations, and performance standards; provide regular feedback and support continuous improvement
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven team culture aligned with Purity Life values and operational excellence
  • Model effective cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Customer Care

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Own fill rate performance across all brands, proactively identifying risks and leading cross-functional problem solving to sustain a minimum 95% fill rate
  • Make informed recommendations and decisions on inventory positioning, vendor performance, and brand priorities, balancing service, working capital, and margin objectives
  • Monitor inventory levels by vendor across all warehouses daily to ensure adherence to approved budgets
  • Ensure timely and accurate order placement, confirmation, and freight coordination to support service levels and inventory objectives
  • Ensure accurate inventory administration, including documentation, inter-warehouse transfers, and vendor inventory reconciliation
  • Partner with Sales on first-order forecasts for new lines and promotional requirements, and keep Sales and other departments informed of new lines, promotions, shortages, and vendor or broker issues in a timely manner
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Category Management, Warehouse, Accounts Payable) to ensure Purchasing initiatives align within the larger company structure, and to advocate for Purchasing needs
  • Participate in regular business reviews with key vendors and brokers, driving accountability against agreed performance, forecasts, and financial targets
  • Take an active role in Purity Life trade shows and offsite meetings, some requiring overnight travel
  • Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may evolve with business needs

Job Requirements:

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience, with 7+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management, including 3+ years leading a team
  • Proven experience in demand forecasting, replenishment planning, and vendor negotiation
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Office 365 for analysis, reporting, and decision-making
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to influence, collaborate, and lead across a diverse stakeholder group

· Demonstrated ability to make sound, data-informed decisions balancing service levels, working capital, and margin objectives

  • Experience in natural health products, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or wholesale distribution
