Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Requirements Engineer based in Canada.

Join a dynamic technology environment where you will help transform complex business needs into effective technical solutions. As a Requirements Engineer, you will play a key role throughout the solution lifecycle, from initial concept and design to implementation and successful delivery. Working closely with Product Owners, architects, development teams, and business stakeholders, you will ensure requirements are clearly defined, structured, and translated into actionable specifications. You will facilitate collaboration between business and IT teams, helping establish a shared understanding of objectives and technical expectations. In addition, you will contribute to testing, quality assurance, and acceptance activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering high-quality solutions in an agile environment.

Accountabilities

As a Requirements Engineer, you will bridge the gap between business expectations and technical implementation, ensuring that solutions are clearly specified, aligned with stakeholder needs, and successfully delivered. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Support technical solution development from initial concept and solution design through implementation and successful introduction.

    • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, and development teams throughout the solution lifecycle.

    • Analyze, structure, and translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements and actionable system specifications.

    • Ensure the quality, completeness, consistency, and clarity of requirements documentation.

    • Organize and facilitate workshops to clarify requirements, address complex questions, and align different stakeholders.

    • Promote a shared understanding between business departments and IT teams.

    • Support implementation activities and end-to-end testing to ensure solutions meet expected quality standards.

    • Define and coordinate test cases with business stakeholders as part of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

    • Contribute actively to testing, quality assurance, and solution acceptance processes.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced Requirements Engineer with strong analytical capabilities, a solid understanding of system design, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder expectations. You should bring:

      • Several years of professional experience as a Requirements Engineer or in a comparable role, ideally within the health insurance sector.

      • Proven ability to translate business needs into precise, structured, and actionable requirements specifications.

      • Strong knowledge of system design, particularly in relation to data structures, functionalities, interfaces, and business processes.

      • Excellent understanding of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.

      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience clarifying complex requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.

      • Proven workshop facilitation and stakeholder management capabilities.

      • An end-to-end mindset and willingness to contribute directly to testing and quality assurance activities.

      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with both business and technical teams.

      • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.

      • A clean background and financial record, with no debt enforcement proceedings or criminal convictions.

      • A certification or formal qualification in Requirements Engineering or Business Analysis, such as IREB, BABOK/IIBA, or an equivalent qualification, is considered an advantage.

      • Benefits

        • Remote working opportunity: Work remotely from anywhere in the world, as indicated in the job listing.

        • Technical and business exposure: Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.

        • End-to-end project involvement: Contribute to the complete solution lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing and implementation.

        • Agile working environment: Gain exposure to established development methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.

        • Professional development: Strengthen your expertise in requirements engineering, system design, stakeholder management, and quality assurance.

        • Collaborative environment: Work across business and technical teams to deliver meaningful solutions.

        • Contract flexibility: Fixed-term employment arrangement, with an expected start as soon as possible.
