The successful candidate will help coordinate alerts, monitor incoming tips and public communications, maintain accurate case records, and ensure critical information is reviewed and communicated promptly through established procedures.

This is a full-time, fully remote position, primarily focused on weekday daytime coverage, with flexibility required to support occasional evening and weekend coverage as operational needs arise.

  • Enter, verify, and maintain accurate case information across approved databases, systems, and communication channels.
  • Coordinate the activation, distribution, updating, and closure of search alerts in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure case information is accurate, current, and consistent across internal and public-facing channels.
  • Monitor active cases and implement updates promptly as new information is received.
  • Escalate emerging issues, risks, and urgent matters to the appropriate leadership contact.

  • Document and forward tips to the appropriate police agency in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed records of information received, actions taken, and notifications made.
  • Recognize and escalate urgent, sensitive, incomplete, or unclear information.

Social Media & Public Communications Monitoring

  • Monitor social media messages, comments, mentions, and tags for tips, sightings, and case updates.
  • Review public interactions carefully and direct relevant information through the appropriate response process.
  • Monitor designated police information feeds and media-monitoring tools for new or updated case information.
  • Track developments involving active cases and communicate relevant changes promptly.

Reporting & Records Management

  • Prepare search alert reports and post-activation summaries.
  • Track alert reach and engagement across designated communication channels.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of alerts, tips, updates, case closures, and actions taken.
  • Support reporting, quality assurance, and internal follow-up activities.
  • Identify recurring issues, information gaps, and opportunities to improve operational processes.

Additional Program Support

  • Assist with community awareness initiatives, public education campaigns, and outreach activities as required.
  • Support volunteer engagement and related program activities when operational demands permit.
  • Assist with other duties aligned with program priorities and operational needs.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to learn web-based databases, case management systems, alerting platforms, and content management tools.
  • Strong written communication, proofreading, documentation, and information-verification skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple digital channels simultaneously.
  • Ability to assess information carefully and distinguish verified details from unconfirmed content.
  • Working knowledge of confidentiality, privacy, records management, and responsible public communication practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands in time-sensitive situations.
  • Sound judgment, accountability, and the ability to follow established procedures while recognizing when escalation is required.
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with colleagues, external partners, police representatives, and members of the public.
  • A compassionate, respectful, and trauma-aware approach when working with sensitive information involving children and families.

Key Competencies

The ideal candidate is dependable, responsive, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. They can remain focused during extended periods of monitoring, respond appropriately when urgent information is received, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
