Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Compensation, this high-impact role is designed for a seasoned total rewards professional who understands the unique complexities of wealth management and financial industry compensation structures. If you thrive on navigating intricate incentive models, aligning rewards with business strategy, and bring a progressive track record, this is your platform. You will serve as a key strategic partner to our People & Culture team and business leaders, ensuring our compensation practices remain innovative, market-competitive, and grounded in sound governance. We are especially interested in finding someone who brings experience with wealth or financial industry compensation plans, as well as an interest or background in leadership.

  • Complex Incentive & Reward Programs: the administration and alignment of key reward mechanisms, including a pool-based short-term incentive (STI) plan with multiple performance scorecards and an RSU-style long-term incentive (LTI) program, ensuring balance between paying for performance, retaining talent, risk mitigation, and governance requirements.
  • Act as a Trusted Strategic Partner: Translate ATB's compensation philosophy into practical guardrails for client groups across the organization, solving complex business challenges and serving as the primary subject matter expert for compensation-related inquiries.
  • Data & Benchmarking: Drive market competitiveness by researching external trends, participating in compensation survey networks, and synthesizing complex datasets into high-impact recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Lead Digital Efficiency & Systems Optimization: Leverage and advance compensation-specific tools and technologies—specifically SAP SuccessFactors—to streamline administrative workflows, enhance data precision, and optimize execution across dispersed teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Compensation Expertise: 10+ years of progressive compensation advisor experience, featuring deep domain knowledge of compensation models, complex variable incentive plans, and industry-specific pay dynamics.
  • Leadership Orientation & Succession Potential: Demonstrated interest or experience in leading compensation teams, backed by a track record of driving deliverables independently with confidence, strategic vision, and professional maturity.
  • Reward Design & Analytical Mastery: Sharp critical thinking skills with a proven ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret market benchmarks, and design reward strategies that directly support organizational goals and employee retention.
  • Influential & Clear Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated talent for simplifying technical compensation concepts into compelling, accessible messaging for stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Digital & Systems Literacy: Expertise using compensation technology platforms—specifically SAP SuccessFactors—along with proficiency in modern productivity tools such as Google Workspace (G-Suite) to drive continuous process improvements.
  • Agility & Collaborative Spirit: A high degree of adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, paired with a collaborative approach to working seamlessly across geographically dispersed teams.

Workplace Arrangement

We embrace a flexible work approach and we understand that the best talent can come from anywhere. For candidates located outside of Alberta, we are open to discussing fully remote arrangements that would include infrequent travel to the office for key collaborative events. All work arrangements are subject to business priorities and may be adjusted.

Salary
