Job description

About Phoenix

Founded in 2019, Phoenix is building the most trusted telehealth platform in Canada, making specialist healthcare accessible to every Canadian, wherever they are. Our platform breaks down barriers to care, empowering patients to take control of their health with personalized treatment options and the guidance of licensed providers.

If you thrive where big ideas turn into real impact, you'll fit right in here. We're a team of creative problem-solvers who move deliberately and collaborate in person, because we think the best work happens that way. At Phoenix, you'll find autonomy over your work, people who care about each other's success, and a mission that's making healthcare better for Canadians.

We’re looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to lead the creative charge across our growth and marketing initiatives. You’ll shape the visual story of Phoenix by crafting campaigns that drive performance, tell human stories, and bring our mission to life across every channel.

You’ll partner closely with our Growth, Creative, and Product teams to design bold, high-performing creative that captures attention and converts. This role blends art and strategy where strong design intuition meets data-driven impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conceptualize, design, and launch creative assets across paid, owned, and earned channels—ads, landing pages, motion graphics, and social.

  • Develop a visual language for growth campaigns that stays true to Phoenix’s brand while testing new creative directions.

  • Work hand-in-hand with Growth Marketing to turn performance insights into design strategy. You’ll understand what drives engagement, and use it to make every creative smarter.

  • Build and maintain a scalable creative library organized by product, audience, and use case.

  • Own the full lifecycle of creative—from ideation to iteration—using data to refine design decisions.

  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency, clarity, and storytelling across all touchpoints.

  • Lead creative brainstorms and contribute to campaign strategy, helping shape the direction of major launches and initiatives.

  • Mentor junior designers and guide agency partners to ensure design excellence across all external work.

  • Stay ahead of design trends, DTC marketing best practices, and emerging formats in digital storytelling.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience as a visual or marketing designer, ideally within a digital-first, consumer-facing brand.

  • Deep experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Motion or web design skills are a strong plus.

  • Proven ability to blend creativity with performance—your work looks great and delivers results.

  • A storyteller at heart. You understand how design can shape emotion, clarity, and action.

  • Highly collaborative, yet confident taking initiative in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

  • Passionate about building a brand that matters—one that makes healthcare simpler, more human, and more accessible.

  • You’re passionate about improving the Canadian healthcare experience and have a personal connection to the space

Want your work to speak for itself? Show us what you can do.

We know a resume can't showcase everything a designer has to offer. If you’d rather lead with your work, skip the standard application and complete our design assignment instead. It’s built to take a few hours, not a few weekends.

Download the assignment brief here.
Use whatever tools you’re most comfortable with. If you use AI anywhere in your process, that’s fine, just tell us where and how.

When you’re done, send your work to [email protected] with the subject line “Design Assignment – [Your Name].” Include your submission with a short rationale behind your choices, any samples you drew inspiration from, and your city. We’ll treat it as your full application and reply to every submission. If your work stands out, your first conversation with us will be about what you made and why.

The assignment is purely for evaluation. We’ll never use your work for anything else.

Why Work at Phoenix?

  • A Rewarding Mission: Through our asynchronous care model, Phoenix is reimagining patient-centric care for Canadians across the country by making diagnoses and treatment delivery faster, more accessible, and completely discreet.

  • Impact & Autonomy: You’ll work directly with passionate, experienced leaders who’ve seen the ups and downs of building a business and genuinely care about your growth. You won’t just execute — you’ll help shape the future of Phoenix and Raven.

  • Collaborative On-Site Culture: Our Operations, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams work together on-site from our downtown Toronto HQ. We thrive on quick feedback loops, spontaneous brainstorms, and actually knowing the people we work with. Bonus points if you're into the occasional foosball tournament or have strong opinions about the best lunch spot nearby.

  • Clinical Excellence: All Phoenix & Raven telehealth clinicians work remotely, providing the highest quality care for even the most sensitive of health topics. Medications are delivered directly (and discreetly) to patients via our pharmacy warehouses, where our diligent Pharmacy team packages each treatment with care.

  • Competitive Pay, Real Benefits: Our compensation bands are backed by real market data, so offers are competitive and fair. Our benefits package includes standard healthcare coverage, a remote-first holiday season, and holistic wellbeing support for when life just happens.

Phoenix is an Equal Opportunity Employer. In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Phoenix will provide accommodations to applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment, selection, and/or assessment process. If selected to participate in the recruitment, selection, and/or assessment process, please inform Human Resources staff of the nature of any accommodation(s) that you may require.

Phoenix uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help review applications and screen resumes during the early stages of our hiring process. These tools assist our recruitment team, and all final hiring decisions are made by real people — not by automated systems.

Phoenix will only contact applicants using a @phoenix.ca email address or a verified LinkedIn account. We encourage applicants to be vigilant in responding to inquiries from unverified sources.
