Working in a collaborative environment, they are responsible for:

  • Representing and translating business needs into clear business and system requirements.
  • Understanding the end-to-end requirements across the technology stack, including how individual systems and technology capabilities must work together to deliver the overall product or capability.
  • Identifying cross-system requirements, dependencies, risks, assumptions and constraints across the technology landscape.
  • Ensuring the overall solution meets the defined business requirements and intended business outcomes.
  • Applying advanced business and systems analysis knowledge to resolve complex problems and capitalize on new opportunities through collaboration across business and technology teams.

What you will do:

  • Lead the gathering, analysis and validation of end-to-end business and system requirements for large or complex initiatives, ensuring the requirements necessary to deliver the overall product or capability are understood.
  • Work across the full technology stack to understand how requirements affect the complete solution, including front-end experiences, APIs and integrations, data, mainframe and systems of record, identity and security, and other enterprise or downstream systems.
  • Bring together Business Partners, Product Owners, Solution Architects, Technical Leads, subject matter experts and other stakeholders to establish a holistic view of how technology components and business processes must work together to deliver the required business outcome.
  • Identify and document cross-system requirements, dependencies, data flows, integration points, risks, assumptions, constraints and gaps, ensuring impacts across the technology ecosystem are understood before detailed design and delivery.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects and Technical Leads to ensure end-to-end requirements are sufficiently understood to support solution design, impact assessment, estimation and delivery planning.
  • Provide Product Owners and delivery teams with the end-to-end requirements, system impacts and context required to support downstream user-story creation, detailed technical analysis and implementation.
  • Maintain continuity of the requirements throughout the initiative lifecycle, assessing changes in business needs, scope or solution direction and identifying the resulting impacts across affected systems and technology teams.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional discovery sessions, workshops and walkthroughs, communicating complex business and technology requirements clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences.

What you will bring:

  • Accreditation in Business Analysis or equivalent credentials/experience.
  • 7+ years as a Business Systems Analyst in a Technology delivery environment.
  • Degree in related discipline (Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly critical thinking, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a Scrum delivery environment including supporting backlog planning, acceptance criteria elicitation, participating in Sprint ceremonies, Agile estimation etc.
  • Experience with solutioning in the Salesforce ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Communities, etc.).
  • A focus on understanding the desired business outcomes and delivering to meet those outcomes.
  • Customer centric approach to problem solving with the ability to collaborate, resolve conflicts, and reach consensus with others.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to translate complex technical subject matter in business terms for executing audiences, succinctly and professionally and to translate business requirements into technical instructions for software developer audiences.
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment, facilitating and contributing to work across geographies and across other functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and operating under levels of uncertainty.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities under time pressure without compromising quality.
  • Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website.
