  • Lead contract finalization, approvals, and post-award administration with Project Management, Project Controls and scope owners. This involves facilitating contract initiation meetings, pre-mobilization reviews, invoice reconciliation, contractor performance monitoring and progress updates, change negotiation and implementation, and closeout, while ensuring to maintain complete contract records.
  • Advise scope owners and project leaders on legal and commercial terms, contractual obligations and risk; proactively resolve issues, disputes and claims with contractors and project teams, involving legal counsel as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with risk and insurance specialists, external legal counsel, commercial professionals and GCMC teams to develop, recommend and implement contracting and procurement strategies that advance project and business objectives.

  • Prepare contract and procurement management plans and reports; identify and escalate commercial risks and impacts on project cost, schedule and scope.
  • Coach and mentor team members and GCMC partners on the contracting process, fostering teamwork and open communication, integrity, constructive feedback and talent development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Tahltan Nation and other Indigenous partners, GCMC team members, external service providers and contractors; identify contracting opportunities that strengthen relationships and advance the Project.

The above key responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

  • Demonstrated negotiation and dispute resolution skills, supported by strong critical and conceptual thinking.
  • Experience across multiple phases of large project execution in industrial engineering and construction, with an understanding of project lifecycles, procedures, roles and responsibilities, and the impacts of contract activities.
