Job description

Requisition ID: 276561

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Role:

The Canadian Banking Analytics, Personalization & Innovation team is seeking a delivery-focused data leader to serve as Senior Manager, Data Strategy and Operations. Reporting to the Director, Data Strategy Enablement and Operations, you will execute the Canadian Banking data strategy through a practical operating model, ensuring data products are trusted, accessible, adopted, and tied to measurable business outcomes. You will connect business priorities with CID&A and Technology delivery to accelerate time to insight, improve operational performance, and enable data-driven growth across Canadian Banking.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

Execute the Data Strategy

  • Translate the multi-year Canadian Banking data roadmap into quarterly delivery plans aligned to priorities such as client primacy, return on equity, deposit growth, and servicing excellence.
  • Lead demand intake, identify high-value data and analytics use cases, and manage value-based prioritization.
  • Develop investment inputs and track adoption, value realization, P&L impact, and ROI for data initiatives.
  • Represent Canadian Banking requirements in enterprise data strategy, platform modernization, and transformation initiatives, ensuring business readiness, continuity, and adoption.

Drive Delivery, Operations, and Governance

  • Coordinate the end-to-end data product lifecycle across business, CID&A, and Technology, translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and delivery outcomes.
  • Manage the data product backlog, dependencies, risks, operational performance, and readiness, escalating early to protect delivery and service continuity.
  • Reduce manual reporting through automation, standardization, and reuse of trusted data assets, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Operationalize enterprise data governance within Canadian Banking by strengthening ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage, auditability, access, and reporting transparency.
  • Support compliance with internal and external data control standards and coordinate data-related matters with Risk, Compliance, and Audit.

Data Enablement and Adoption

  • Build data literacy and scale self-service analytics through business-focused tools, training, documentation, and best practices.
  • Lead business readiness and adoption as analytics and business users migrate to new data platforms and enterprise data assets.
  • Enable responsible AI and ML initiatives aligned to Canadian Banking priorities by identifying high-value use cases and delivering trusted, governed, secure, and fit-for-purpose data products with appropriate privacy, bias, explainability, and monitoring controls.
  • Provide executive-ready insights on delivery, adoption, value, risks, and decisions, and promote a culture of innovation, user-centricity, and continuous improvement.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in data strategy, data product management, product ownership, data governance, or analytics operations.
  • Financial services experience, with a strong preference for Canadian Banking.
  • A proven track record of managing data product roadmaps, backlogs, and complex programs across large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, quality, lineage, privacy, and controls in a regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of modern data ecosystems, cloud platforms, and BI tools (e.g., Databricks, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Power BI).
  • Strong ability to translate business priorities into actionable requirements and measurable data-product outcomes.
  • Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading change, adoption, training, and enablement for new data platforms, products, or tools.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams with strong ownership, collaboration, and a bias for action.

What's in it for you?
