Position Summary

In this role, you will own the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning. You will oversee financial modelling including three-statement models, discounted cash flow valuations, capital structure analysis, and return assessments, and serve as the business owner for the FP&A platform.
As a trusted finance partner, you will provide clear, decision-useful insights to senior leadership, operational teams, joint venture partners, and other external stakeholders under the guidance of the Director, Investments and FP&A.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership in Budgeting, Forecasting & Executive Reporting
• Lead and modernize the end-to-end annual operating budget and quarterly rolling forecast cycles across all communities and legal entities.
• Develop executive-level Board materials and contribute to monthly and quarterly financial performance reporting packages.
• Define and track core operational KPIs, Net Operating Income (NOI) drivers, and fund/portfolio metrics.
• Lead the development of standardized financial models and KPI frameworks to improve consistency, comparability, and decision-making.
• Lead ad hoc analysis, including what-if scenarios, business-case evaluation, and strategic recommendations
• Partner with the accounting and data analytics teams to enhance data capture, reporting infrastructure, and the quality, timeliness, and scope of FP&A insights.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing optimization of the FP&A platform, including system design, administration, reporting governance, enhancements, and user adoption.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Support
• Work closely with functional leaders to translate financial insights into clear, actionable guidance that supports daily operations.
• Work directly with joint venture partners, under the guidance of senior leadership, to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and other partnership requirements.
• Provide timely and accurate financial analysis to lenders, investors, partners, and other external stakeholders, supporting transparent reporting and effective relationships.
• Support corporate development, capital initiatives, lender reporting, and investor communications through rigorous financial analysis and clear decision-support materials.
• Assist with due diligence and integration analysis for M&A activity, where applicable
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two to three finance professionals, including setting priorities, providing ongoing coaching, managing performance, and establishing strong modelling, documentation, review, and data-quality standards.
Qualifications
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, accounting, or a related finance role.
• At least two years of experience in a managerial, people leadership, or lead functional capacity
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related discipline. An MBA or CFA designation would be considered an asset
• Advanced financial modelling expertise in Excel (driver-based forecasting, scenario modelling, trend analysis)
• Demonstrated experience implementing, administering, or serving as a business owner or power user of an enterprise FP&A platform.
• Ability to think on their feet, present complex information clearly, and respond confidently and thoughtfully to questions.
