  • Design the integration of sensors, field controllers and monitoring technologies into DCS/PLC/SCADA and OT-IT data systems, defining I/O, controller, control network, HMI, historian and data flow requirements.
  • Produce and approve engineering work packages (control narratives, I/O lists, network/architecture diagrams, wiring schematics, device data sheets) per CEC, IEEE, API, CSA, ISA-95, ISA-99/IEC 62443 and ISA 18.2.
  • Coordinate with OT, OPE, IT, Operations, Maintenance and vendors to align technology selection, cyber security and infrastructure ownership.
  • Own project control deliverables (scoping documents, decision records, cost estimates, schedules, forecasts, risk, reporting); manage third-party resources and procurement; support site construction and commissioning.
  • Submit EIs/MOCs, facilitate MOC and PHA, and take MOCs from initiation through close-out in line with COIMS (Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System ) and the PPMP.
  • Develop standardized, repeatable designs and templates, and apply lessons learned to new integration projects.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Registered P.Eng with APEGA and/or APEGS.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in design, implementation, commissioning, and operation of SAGD assets.
  • Extensive knowledge in facilities engineering, including turnaround, asset management, and hazard awareness, with expertise in industry codes and standards for Instrumentation, Process Controls, and Electrical (i.e. ISA, CSA, CEC, API).
  • Proven experience in Process Control Systems (Automation/OT) integration, with strong knowledge of industry norms and standard processes for oil sands control systems.
