Job description

About Fullscript

We’re an industry-leading health technology company on a mission to help people get better. We started in 2011 with one simple idea. Make it easier for practitioners to access the products they trust so they can deliver better care.

That simple idea grew into a platform that powers every part of care. Today, more than 125,000 practitioners use Fullscript for clinical insights, lab interpretations, patient analytics, education, and access to high-quality supplements. Over 10 million patients rely on Fullscript to stay connected to their care plans and follow through on treatment.

We build tools that make care smarter and more human. Tools that save time, simplify decisions, and help practitioners stay closely connected to the people they care for. When everything they need is in one place, they can focus on what matters most: helping people get better.

This is your invitation.

Bring your ideas, your grit, and your care for people.

Join us and shape the future of care.

The Role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to set the technical direction for Enterprise Systems, the critical technology layer connecting our e-commerce platform with our ERP, finance, demand planning, and warehouse management systems. Every order, shipment, and dollar of revenue flows through this domain.

As a Staff Engineer, you will combine deep, hands-on engineering expertise with systems-level thinking and organization-wide influence. You will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, guide architectural decisions, and ensure the domain remains reliable, scalable, and secure for the long term, all while actively designing, building, and shipping software.

You will collaborate closely with fellow Staff Engineers, Tech Leads, Engineering Managers, business stakeholders, Security, and other cross-functional partners to solve complex problems in a rapidly evolving domain that is essential to Fullscript’s operations.

This is how we like building software 👉🏼 Fullscript Developer Handbook.

If you share our values, we’d be excited to talk with you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a technical leader within your domain, owning architecture, design decisions, and technical direction
  • Lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform health
  • Partner with business stakeholders, Product, Engineering, and Security to define, prioritize, and scope work on a quarterly basis
  • Plan, architect, and review complex systems and workflows, leading design discussions and decision-making
  • Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities in existing systems and propose pragmatic improvements
  • Serve as a domain expert and organizational point of contact for technical decisions and strategy in your area
  • Collaborate closely with Tech Leads and developers to unblock teams and keep projects on track
  • Contribute directly to the codebase and work alongside developers to take projects across the finish line
  • Promote strong engineering practices, maintainability, reliability, and operational excellence
  • Support the growth of other developers through mentorship, feedback, and technical guidance
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, ownership, and continuous improvement

What You Bring:

  • A strong desire to help teams grow and succeed, with a focus on collaboration and trust
  • Deep experience designing, building, and maintaining high-scale web applications, back end integrations and SaaS systems
  • Strong system design skills, with the ability to reason about trade-offs, risk, and long-term impact
  • Passion for high-quality engineering practices, including testing, observability, security, and performance
  • Comfort leading ambiguous or complex problem spaces from discovery through delivery
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive outcomes
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience using a modern tech stack (Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript, GraphQL & REST APIs)
  • Experience or interest in platform, infrastructure, security, or domain-critical systems is a plus
  • Practical experience or a strong interest in using AI to improve engineering productivity

What We Can Offer You:

  • Generous PTO and competitive pay
  • Fullscript’s RRSP match program for financial health
  • Flexible benefits package and workplace wellness program
  • Training budget and company-wide learning initiatives
  • Discount on Fullscript catalog of products
  • Ability to work Wherever You Work Well*
  • Our Wherever You Work Well philosophy means Fullscript teammates get to pick their own office — whether that’s in-office, at home, or a bit of both 🐶🏡
