About the Position:

As a Staff Developer, you will play a key leadership role within a software development team, balancing deep technical expertise with mentorship, project leadership, and delivery accountability. This position requires expert-level programming and system design capabilities, ownership of end-to-end project delivery, and a commitment to software development best practices.

You will lead technical initiatives, guide and mentor team members, contribute to architectural decisions, and help shape engineering standards while working across cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a highly collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while helping others grow.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale engineering projects from design through implementation and deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers across the team.
  • Create and review high-level and low-level design documentation.
  • Drive software quality through coding best practices, unit testing, and test automation.
  • Participate in Agile development activities including daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural standards, Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, and engineering best practices.
  • Take ownership of production issues and identify long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop reusable design patterns and scalable software solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX, and Engineering teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • Influence technical direction across teams and help drive alignment toward target architecture.
  • Coach and mentor team members through code reviews, pairing sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Lead incident response reviews and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support team delivery by helping prioritize work, unblock teammates, and ensure commitments are met with quality and timeliness.

About You

  • Extensive experience designing, building, and delivering complex software systems.
  • Strong expertise in software engineering, system design, and modern development practices.
  • Experience with Golang, Python, and related development ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and influence outcomes across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and develop effective solutions.
  • Deep understanding of software development best practices, including testing, automation, code quality, and architecture.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineers at various levels.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technical decisions with business objectives and organizational goals.
  • A growth mindset with the ability to learn new technologies, frameworks, and domains independently.

To support a fair, transparent, and engaging interview experience, candidates interviewing remotely are expected to be on camera during all video interviews. Being on camera fosters authentic connection, improves communication, and allows for full engagement from both candidates and interviewers. We understand that technical, bandwidth, or location-related challenges may occasionally prevent video use. If this applies, candidates are required to notify us in advance so we can explore appropriate accommodations.
