Job description

About Blue J

Blue J is the leading generative AI solution for tax professionals and one of Canada's fastest-growing AI companies. Headquartered in Toronto, we're a high-growth B2B SaaS company building industry-leading tax research software that helps accountants find accurate answers to complex tax questions with greater speed and confidence.

Backed by a $122M USD Series D funding round, we're scaling rapidly across North America and the UK while continuing to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI. By combining advanced technology with deep tax expertise, we empower tax professionals to work more efficiently, make better decisions, and deliver greater value to their clients.

A Note on Location

This role is based in Toronto, but we’re flexible on where you work. Hybrid folks come into our downtown office twice a week. Primarily remote folks will join us in person for company events a couple of times a year. All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for a Technical Product Manager to own Blue J’s integration product strategy end to end, including our API and MCP roadmap. You’ll work day to day with Product, Design, and Engineering, and spend real time with partners and enterprise customers, from walking a large professional services firm through how Blue J fits into their setup to deciding what we build next.

What You’ll be Doing

  • Own Blue J's product integration strategy, including our API, MCP, and partner integration roadmap.
  • Build on our current integrations and define how we evaluate, prioritize, and launch the next wave of integrations.
  • Be the product lead in technical conversations with partners and enterprise customers, explaining how our integrations work and how they fit into their architecture.
  • Work with engineering to design a secure and scalable integration architecture that meets enterprise requirements.
  • Partner with our Security and GRC teams on customer security reviews, and make sure what we build holds up to enterprise scrutiny.
  • Write clear specs, PRDs, and user stories, and work closely with engineering to scope, sequence, and ship.
  • Partner with Sales, Partnerships, and Marketing on go-to-market for integrations.
  • Track adoption and success metrics after launch, and feed usage data and feedback back into the roadmap.
  • Communicate roadmap, priorities, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders across the organization.

What You Offer Blue J

  • 7+ years of technical product management experience in B2B enterprise SaaS.
  • Hands-on experience owning MCP architecture, APIs, integrations, or platform products. AI agent tooling is a big plus.
  • A solid understanding of how enterprise software architectures are designed, including secure data pipelines, authentication and access controls (OAuth, SSO), and data handling.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security and GRC expectations (SOC 2, ISO 27001, vendor security reviews), and comfort speaking to them with customers.
  • Confident in customer-facing settings, from partner working sessions to presenting to technical and executive audiences at large enterprises.
  • Comfortable going deep with engineers on architecture, trade-offs, and implementation details.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into actionable plans.
  • A clear communicator, written and verbal, who can translate technical detail for non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to drive efficiency, improve workflows, and stay ahead of industry trends.

What We Offer You

  • A rare opportunity to make a difference and help shape the future of our product.
  • A mission-driven culture where your work directly advances clarity, efficiency, and accessibility in tax research.
  • Competitive base salary, stock options, and benefits designed to support you and your family.
  • A collaborative, ambitious, and supportive team that values innovation, respect, and fun.
  • The excitement of a fast-growing, well-funded company with clear momentum, and the resources to back bold initiatives.

The Core Values that Define Our Culture

  • We are customer-focused
  • We put team over self
  • We are pleasant and playful
  • We are open to better ideas
  • We move fast and fix things

How We Use AI in Our Hiring Process

To ensure transparency, we want candidates to know that Blue J uses AI-enabled tools within our applicant tracking system to help organize applications and highlight profiles that match the key requirements for each role.

AI does not make hiring decisions.

This is a Level 5 in Blue J’s career level framework. We use levels to define the expected scope, autonomy, impact, decision-making, and experience for each role. Final compensation will be set fairly and thoughtfully based on experience, expertise, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. While all candidates are expected to bring directly relevant experience, the top of the range is typically reserved for individuals who demonstrate exceptional depth in the role’s core competencies, a strong track record of impact in similar environments, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy from day one.
