Are you someone who enjoys working with data, uncovering insights, and finding better ways to help a business make informed decisions? Do you enjoy combining technical expertise with problem-solving and collaborating with different teams?

Trans Global Service is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Reporting & Power BI Specialist to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, developing meaningful reports and dashboards, and helping an organization better understand its performance. If you're curious, analytical, and enjoy challenging the status quo, we'd like to hear from you!

Position Overview:

Working from our Corporate Office in Edmonton and reporting directly to the System Support Operations Manager, the Reporting & Power BI Specialist plays a key role in transforming business data into meaningful information that supports operational performance and strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong analytical and communication skills to develop reporting solutions, identify trends and opportunities, and work with various business teams to improve how information is accessed and utilized.

We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented but also thinks outside the box, enjoys solving problems, and is not afraid to ask questions or suggest new approaches.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of reporting initiatives, collaborate with different areas of the business, and help identify new ways to leverage data to improve processes and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, interpret, and present business data through reports and dashboards that support informed decision-making.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI reports, dashboards, and DAX calculations.
  • Configure, maintain, and continuously improve existing Power BI reporting solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data models and semantic models to support business intelligence needs.
  • Work with Product Owners and business units to understand reporting requirements and deliver new or enhanced reporting solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions, transforming raw data into meaningful insights.
  • Identify, develop, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Provide guidance and end-user support for reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and the overall use of business intelligence.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–2 years of experience in reporting, data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX functions and Power Query.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and the development of semantic models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A customer-focused approach and a passion for providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps, is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Data Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual English/French language skills are an asset but not required.
