Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Customer Strategy, Analytics and Merchandise Planning, the Vice-President, Pricing & Promotions will lead pricing and promotional strategy across CTC’s retail businesses. This leader will use customer insights, market intelligence, category priorities and financial goals to make coordinated commercial decisions that improve customer value, grow sales and support healthy margins.

The role brings together teams responsible for pricing strategy and operations, promotional strategy and programs, price-value transformation, and enterprise print, distribution and gift cards. A key priority is leading CTC’s True North Price/Value program, a multi-year effort to strengthen how we define, deliver and measure value for customers. This is a highly collaborative role. You will work closely with Merchandising, Analytics, Brand and Marketing, Digital and Loyalty, Finance, Retail Operations, Product and Technology to turn strategy into practical tools, processes and customer experiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Set the pricing and promotions strategy across CTC’s retail businesses, including clear priorities, decision-making principles and measures of success.
  • Lead the True North Price/Value program and turn its multi-year strategy into a practical roadmap for the business.
  • Bring the pricing, promotions, price-value, print, distribution and gift card portfolios together as one coordinated commercial system.
  • Use customer, competitor, category and financial insights to guide pricing and promotional decisions.
  • Grow regular-price and promotional sales while balancing margin, inventory, supplier funding, operating costs and long-term customer trust.
  • Clarify roles, decision rights, governance and performance measures so teams can make faster, more consistent decisions.
  • Partner with Analytics to improve pricing models, promotional measurement, scenario planning and tracking of business benefits.
  • Build and lead a strong team, with clear accountabilities and a focus on development, inclusion and succession planning.
  • Advise senior leaders on complex pricing and promotional decisions by clearly explaining options, trade-offs and risks.
  • Lead changes to capabilities and ways of working, helping teams adopt new tools, data, processes and operating models.
  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to define business needs, prioritize investments and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Work with Brand and Marketing, Digital and Loyalty, and retail teams to deliver clear and consistent customer experiences across channels.

What you’ll bring:

  • Senior leadership experience in pricing, promotions, merchandising, commercial strategy, revenue management or a related area within a large retail or consumer business.
  • A track record of developing pricing or promotional strategies and turning them into measurable business results at scale.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance customer value, sales, margin, competitive position and cost.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide change involving strategy, process, data, technology and new ways of working.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using customer, market, competitor and financial insights to make decisions and measure results.
  • The ability to work across a complex, matrixed organization, align senior stakeholders and influence decisions across multiple teams.
  • Experience partnering across functions such as merchandising, marketing, digital, loyalty, analytics, product, technology, finance and retail operations.
  • Clear executive communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex issues and explain choices and trade-offs.
  • A collaborative, outcome-focused leadership style that combines strategic thinking with disciplined execution.
  • Experience building, developing and retaining strong, inclusive teams.
  • Experience in a multi-brand, franchise, dealer or similarly distributed retail model is an asset.
