Warehouse Associate – Full-Time
Company: Adaria Vending Services
Location: Vaughan, Ontario
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
About the Role
Adaria Vending Services is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role involving the receiving, counting, picking, and organization of beverages, snacks, and other products used to fulfill customer orders.
Accuracy is critical to this position. The successful candidate must be comfortable performing mental arithmetic, counting products precisely, verifying barcodes, and ensuring that physical inventory matches recorded quantities. Even small errors in product counts or barcode identification can lead to inventory discrepancies, incorrect orders, and downstream fulfillment issues.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, physically capable, comfortable working with numbers, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate Order Picking: Pick and assemble beverages, snacks, and other products into bins and onto skids according to order requirements. Product quantities must match the order exactly, with no avoidable counting or picking errors.
- Shipment Receiving and Verification: Receive incoming deliveries and verify product quantities against purchase orders, invoices, and other receiving documents. Identify and report shortages, overages, damaged products, and discrepancies.
- Numerical Accuracy and Mental Math: Use basic arithmetic and mental math to count cases, individual units, and product quantities; verify totals; and identify inconsistencies during receiving, picking, and inventory checks.
- Barcode and Product Identification: Carefully verify product descriptions, item numbers, and barcodes to ensure the correct products are scanned, received, picked, and recorded. Understand that scanning the wrong barcode or selecting the wrong item can result in inaccurate inventory records and fulfillment errors.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate stock counts, update inventory records using an iPad or other company systems, investigate discrepancies, and communicate potential errors promptly.
- Stock Rotation and Replenishment: Restock picking locations, organize inventory, and follow first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures to support proper stock rotation.
- Material Handling: Safely lift, carry, move, load, and unload products manually and using appropriate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and power walkies.
- Vehicle Loading: Assist with loading company vehicles when required.
- Warehouse Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free warehouse, including aisles, storage locations, and work areas.
- Cardboard Recycling and Waste Management: Break down cardboard and operate the cardboard baler in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
- Health and Safety: Follow company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
- Other Duties: Perform additional warehouse tasks as required to support daily operations.
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred; two or more years of experience is an asset.
- Valid First Aid certification is required before commencing employment. Candidates who do not currently hold a valid certification must obtain it before their start date.
- Counterbalance forklift experience and certification are an asset
- Exceptional attention to detail when counting, picking, receiving, scanning, and recording products.
- Strong numerical aptitude: Comfortable with mental math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and basic quantity calculations without relying on a calculator for every task.
- High standard of counting accuracy: Able to consistently verify quantities and ensure picked orders and received shipments match the required counts.
- Barcode and scanning accuracy: Able to distinguish between similar products, item numbers, and barcodes and understand how incorrect scans affect inventory accuracy.
- Basic computer or tablet skills for scanning products, entering information, and processing orders.
- Ability to identify, investigate, and report discrepancies rather than guessing or entering unverified quantities.
- Ability to follow instructions, SOPs, and established processes consistently.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capability: Able to lift and handle products weighing up to 45 lbs (approximately 20.4 kg) consistently throughout the shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable with prolonged standing and walking, as well as bending, reaching, and repetitive handling tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Experience using pallet jacks and power walkies is an asset.
This is a full-time position with the following regular schedule:
Monday - Friday: 9 am to 5 pm.(30 mins paid lunch included) for a 40 hr week.
Salary: 40,000-42,000/ year based on the candidate's experience and aptitude. Overtime is paid on top of this based on the business requirements.
