Job description

AI Product Builder – IoT & Data Intelligence

Location: Mississauga, Ontario (hybrid) · Type: Full-time, permanent · Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday · Team: BUILD

Work arrangement: Hybrid, with at least 3 days a week in our Mississauga office and up to 2 days remote. For strong candidates based outside the Greater Toronto Area, we may consider a remote arrangement.

About ZenduIT / GoFleet / GoZen Intelligence
ZenduIT and GoFleet build technology that helps organizations run fleets and field operations: GPS tracking, driver safety, AI dash cameras, maintenance, compliance, asset monitoring and business intelligence. We are now building GoZen Intelligence, an AI-powered fleet intelligence platform that turns operational data into prioritized insights and actions.

About the role
You will turn ambiguous customer and operational problems into working products. This is not a traditional developer role and not a pure product manager role. You work across product thinking, software, data, AI and prototyping, using real fleet and device data.

What you will do

  • Understand the real customer problem before you build, and define how success will be measured.
  • Explore event, alert, fault and device data; spot misleading patterns and challenge assumptions.
  • Build prototypes, full-stack features, APIs, data workflows and AI-powered tools.
  • Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) to move faster.
  • Keep numbers and safety-critical logic deterministic, and design checks so wrong AI output never reaches a customer.
  • Test your own work, measure whether it changed customer outcomes, and turn repeated work into reusable components.

What you might build
AI alert prioritization and noise reduction, maintenance and fault intelligence, LLM-powered assistants and summaries, data quality monitoring across device types, and rapid prototypes for new products.

What we are looking for

  • 3+ years building software, data products or automations that other people used.
  • Clear examples of what you owned, the trade-offs you made and what changed because of your work.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular or React, Node or Python, and SQL or MongoDB (equivalent stacks welcome).
  • Comfort querying, cleaning and sanity-checking data.
  • Daily use of AI tools in real work, and an example of catching a wrong AI output.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and incomplete requirements.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Startup, founder, hackathon, IoT, telematics or customer-facing engineering experience is an asset.

Compensation (CAD, annual base, tentative)

  • 3–5 years: $60,000 – $70,000
  • 6–8 years: $71,000 – $89,000
  • 9–11 years: $90,000 – $11,0000

These ranges are tentative and will be finalized as we move through the hiring process, based on the level we hire for, assessed skills and internal equity.

Hiring process
Application → AI-assisted interview → Practical case study → Hiring manager → Final conversation

Use of AI in our hiring process. We use AI tools to help screen, assess and select applicants, and our first interview is conducted by an AI interviewer. People review every application and interview, and people make every hiring decision. If you would rather speak with a person, tell us and we will arrange it. This will not affect your application. AI tools are encouraged in the case study; we will ask how you used them and how you verified the output.

Diversity and inclusion. ZenduIT / GoFleet is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of every background, identity, age and ability, and we assess what you can do, not where you did it. Canadian work experience is not required.

Accommodation. Accommodations are available at every stage of recruitment, in line with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the AODA. Tell us what you need when you apply or at any point in the process. We keep this information confidential and use it only to arrange your accommodation.

Vacancy and response. This posting is for an existing vacancy. We will tell every interviewed candidate the outcome within 45 days of their last interview.
