Job description

The AVP, Delivery Excellence & Transformation sets the strategy for how Technology plans, resources and delivers work, bringing together program and project management, Agile practices and AI-enabled transformation to improve predictability and business outcomes. The role aligns quarterly delivery planning with enterprise planning, funding and governance. Accountabilities span development of delivery leaders and professionals, and ownership of delivery platforms, workforce planning, internal and external resource allocation, and strategic staffing and delivery partnerships.

The AVP leads enterprise-wide delivery transformation, defining and implementing an AI-enabled delivery model that simplifies processes, redefines roles and controls, and embeds new ways of working. The mandate is to remove unnecessary complexity and deliver measurable business outcomes through effective AI adoption.

What you will do:

  • Lead program and project management, Scrum Master and Agile Coaching practices, setting standards and driving continuous improvement across traditional and Agile delivery.
  • Develop delivery leaders and professionals through career pathways, coaching and practical AI skills.
  • Align quarterly delivery planning, including PI Planning and Big Room Planning, with enterprise priorities, funding and governance; partner with platform leaders to address dependencies, readiness gaps and prioritization decisions. Partner with business, technology and corporate leaders to clarify accountabilities and align delivery practices with enterprise requirements.
  • Lead enterprise-wide adoption of the AI-enabled delivery model, challenging established practices, eliminating low-value work and simplifying processes, roles and controls; build commitment to change and align adoption with enterprise standards.
  • Own delivery tools for project and resource tracking, ensuring reliable data and integrated, automated reporting.
  • Establish delivery performance measures and validate AI benefits against baselines, using evidence to guide improvement and investment decisions.
  • Own Technology workforce planning, talent intake and internal and external resource allocation, aligning skills and capacity with funded demand.
  • Manage Engineering operating expense forecasts and savings commitments, translating realized productivity gains into workforce and sourcing decisions.
  • Manage strategic staffing and delivery partnerships, setting contractual expectations for quality, productivity, AI adoption and security; work with Procurement, Legal and Architecture on commercial terms and remediation.
  • Challenge the status quo, remove unnecessary complexity and focus on outcomes over process.
  • Develop people, build commitment to change and lead effective AI adoption.
  • Exercise sound financial judgment and hold teams and partners accountable for measurable business results.

What you will bring:

  • Experience leading Program and Project Management and Agile delivery practices in a complex enterprise, developing leaders and professionals, and driving continuous improvement across traditional and Agile approaches.
  • Expertise in enterprise and quarterly delivery planning, including aligning priorities, funding, capacity and dependencies; sound judgment in applying project management, SAFe, Scrum and Lean practices to business needs.
  • Demonstrated success redesigning processes, roles and controls through AI and automation, with practical knowledge of generative and agentic AI adoption and evidence of measurable benefits beyond tool deployment.
  • Strong workforce planning, resource allocation and financial acumen, including operating expense forecasting, savings realization and management of internal and external technology capacity.
  • Experience managing strategic technology staffing and delivery partnerships, including sourcing, commercial negotiations, contractual expectations and partner performance.
  • Experience owning delivery-platform requirements and adoption, establishing reliable data and performance measures, and validating productivity and delivery improvements against baselines.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-wide transformation, with strong executive communication and cross-functional influence to build commitment, navigate resistance and sustain adoption. A change-oriented mindset and strong bias for simplifying complexity, challenging the status quo and delivering measurable business outcomes.
