Job description

Are you looking for a supportive, collaborative workplace with great teams and inspiring leaders? You’ve come to the right place. We’re looking for a Business Development Manager who thrives on building relationships, activating advisors, and moving opportunities from conversation to placed business.

This is a hybrid inside sales role with targeted field activity, ideal for someone who wants to progress into external wholesaling. If this sounds like you, and the opportunity below sounds exciting, we’d like to hear from you.

About the Role:

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will deepen engagement within key MGA/AGA partners by proactively supporting advisors, advancing sales opportunities, and driving new production. You’ll partner closely with our Business Development Directors (BDDs) to identify opportunities, grow share of wallet, and ensure advisors receive timely, consultative support. You will:

  • Build and strengthen advisor relationships through proactive outreach (calls, virtual meetings, selective in‑person meetings).
  • Provide case support including needs analysis, product positioning, illustrations, and navigation of underwriting/operations.
  • Activate new producers and support onboarding through structured engagement and training.
  • Deliver product and concept training (virtual and small‑group in‑person).
  • Monitor new business pipelines, resolve outstanding requirements, and help move cases to placement.
  • Collaborate with BDDs on business planning, regional growth initiatives, and advisor development.
  • Represent Serenia Life at advisor meetings, branch events, roadshows, and training sessions.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Serenia Life products, competitive landscape, and industry trends.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 3–5+ years in life/health distribution (MGA/AGA or carrier), inside sales, wholesaling support, or advisor development.
  • LLQP licensed (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
  • Strong outbound discipline and comfort selling via phone/video.
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar), illustrations, and e‑app platforms.
  • Proven ability to build trusted advisor relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Confident presenter with excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and follow‑through.
