Our client is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to support the growth of its industrial services business across Manitoba.

Providing a range of specialized services to industrial and commercial customers, the organization works with businesses to support their operational, maintenance, and environmental service needs.

This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with industrial customers, and expanding the organization’s presence across manufacturing, mining, industrial facilities, construction, and other relevant sectors.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands industrial sales and enjoys uncovering opportunities, building relationships, and developing long-term partnerships.

The successful candidate will take a proactive approach to business development, establishing new customer relationships, growing existing accounts, and helping customers identify solutions that support their operational needs.

Experience in environmental services or hazardous waste management would be an asset, but we are also interested in candidates with strong business development experience in related industries who understand industrial environments and know how to turn customer needs into business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business: Identify, pursue, and secure new customers for a range of industrial and environmental services.
  • Identify opportunities in the field: Proactively connect with manufacturing facilities, mines, industrial operations, construction companies, and other potential customers to understand their operations and uncover opportunities.
  • Build customer relationships: Develop trusted relationships with operational decision-makers, facility managers, maintenance leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Grow existing accounts: Identify opportunities to expand service offerings within established customer relationships and introduce additional solutions where appropriate.
  • Take a consultative approach: Ask the right questions, understand customer challenges, and recommend services that address operational requirements and provide value.
  • Manage the sales pipeline: Research prospective accounts, identify key contacts, maintain regular outreach, and manage opportunities from initial introduction through to securing new business.
  • Develop long-term partnerships: Maintain consistent communication with customers, identify opportunities for additional services, and support ongoing customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams: Partner with operations and other stakeholders to understand service capabilities, develop solutions, and help ensure customer expectations can be met.
  • Monitor market opportunities: Stay informed about customer needs, industry activity, and competitive developments to identify areas for growth.
  • Maintain accurate sales records: Track customer interactions, prospect activity, opportunities, and follow-up activities using the organization’s CRM system.
  • Contribute to business growth: Build a sustainable pipeline of new opportunities and support revenue growth through consistent prospecting, relationship development, and account expansion.

What You Bring

  • Experience in business development, outside sales, industrial sales, or a similar commercial role, with a demonstrated ability to generate new business and grow customer relationships.
  • Experience in environmental services, construction services, equipment rental, industrial services, or another related technical or industrial sector is highly valued.
  • Direct experience in hazardous waste management, industrial cleaning, industrial maintenance, or related environmental services would be an asset, but is not essential.
  • An understanding of industrial or operational environments and the ability to engage effectively with decision-makers to identify customer needs and potential solutions.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to sales, with the confidence to initiate conversations, develop new relationships, and pursue opportunities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A consultative sales style, with the ability to ask thoughtful questions, understand operational challenges, and connect customers with appropriate services.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects, customer relationships, and sales opportunities at different stages.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to recognize opportunities that support profitable business growth.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using a CRM system to manage customer information and sales activity.
  • A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel regularly throughout Manitoba for customer meetings and site visits.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Help grow an established industrial services business with opportunities across multiple sectors.
  • Build new customer relationships while identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts.
  • Work with an established organization that has the operational capabilities and resources to support customer needs.
  • Take an active role in identifying new markets, developing opportunities, and contributing to long-term business growth.
  • Join a team where your ability to build relationships and generate new business can have a direct impact on the organization’s success.
