Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY

This role bridges engineering and field execution, providing leadership in design management, constructability reviews, stakeholder engagement, subcontractor management and delivery readiness to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design management of all Airfield Civil & Electrical (AEC) scope elements, including runways, taxiways, lighting, and associated utilities.
  • Oversee the integration of design and construction sequencing, ensuring buildability and minimal operational impact to airport activities.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams (civil, electrical, structural, utilities) and external consultants to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Co-Manage stakeholder engagement with GTAA, Nav Canada, Transport Canada, and airlines to ensure alignment with operational and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical direction and review of airfield electrical systems including ALCMS, Field Electrical Centres (FECs), and distribution networks.
  • Lead constructability and interface reviews, identifying opportunities for optimization, risk reduction, and value engineering.
  • Support development of design packages and technical specifications for procurement and construction.
  • Oversee design progress tracking, schedule integration, and coordination with project controls.
  • Manage design-related risks, issues, and change processes in alignment with PACT’s governance framework.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout design and construction phases.
  • Facilitate design workshops, progress meetings, and coordination reviews with construction leads and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve technical reports, drawings, and submissions, ensuring completeness and adherence to design intent.
  • Coordinate with cost planning and estimating to validate design quantities and scope alignment.
  • Track KPI’s.
  • Cost tracking and Invoice review and approval.
  • Monitor consultant performance and ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
  • Promote collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing across the AEC Sub-Program team.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our office or site office in Mississauga, Ontario, with frequent visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided. All schedule or on‑call adjustments will comply with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) and an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) upon joining the company.
