Job description

Who We Are

At Cameron Corporation, we're more than a real estate development and management company. We're a family-run business built on strong relationships, mutual respect, and a genuine commitment to the people who make our success possible.

For decades, we've been developing, investing in, and managing high-quality commercial, industrial, residential, and mixed-use properties across Alberta. While our portfolio continues to grow, we've worked hard to maintain the values that got us here: integrity and honesty, reputation for excellence, social responsibility and hard work and accountability.

We believe that great businesses are built by great people. That's why we foster a supportive, team-oriented environment where employees are trusted, encouraged to contribute ideas, and empowered to make an impact. When you join Cameron Corporation, you're joining a team that celebrates successes together, supports each other through challenges, genuinely cares for one another and takes pride in the communities we help build.

We're currently seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

As a Corporate Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial reporting, analysis, and accounting operations of a diverse portfolio of corporate entities, real estate investments, and business ventures.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, ownership groups, investment partners, and external service providers, you'll provide accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and strong financial stewardship that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, values continuous improvement, and wants exposure to multiple business lines, investments, and real estate operations. If you're someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Account for intercompany transactions, joint ventures, partnership investments, distributions, and related financial activities.
  • Monitor receivables, review payables coding, and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances to support informed business decisions.

  • Assist external auditors and respond to audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.

Systems, Technology & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Participate in system upgrades, implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the use and development of financial reporting tools, business intelligence solutions, and data analytics capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing reconciliations, financial statements, journal entries, budgets, and variance analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Interest in technology, financial modeling, data analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation, CPA candidate status, or plans to pursue a CPA designation.
  • Experience working with real estate, investments, joint ventures, partnerships, or investor reporting.
  • Experience with U.S. entities and cross-border accounting considerations.
  • Familiarity with Yardi, MRI, Power BI, or comparable accounting and reporting platforms.
  • Experience working with large datasets, financial modeling, and business intelligence tools.
