Experience the best of both worlds with our hybrid work environment, where you spend three days a week in the office, connecting, collaborating, and enjoying quality time with your amazing colleagues! Our Values: Be better; we strive for improvement in everything we do. Be accountable; we foster clarity and are empowered to act responsibly. Be a team; we are united to drive collective impact to achieve our goals.

Overall Job Purpose

The Director, Citizen Development & Employee Technology Experience Pod Owner is responsible for leading and advancing two connected enterprise capabilities: enabling employees to safely improve how work gets done through Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate and approved low-code/no-code capabilities; and reducing technology friction through stronger employee experiences, communications, onboarding, short-form learning, TechTalks and adoption programs.

This role shapes and delivers the pod strategy, roadmap, operating model, governance, prioritization and measurable outcomes. The Director balances speed, innovation and employee empowerment with security, privacy, risk, operational resilience and supportability, ensuring employee-led technology adoption remains practical, governed and sustainable.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the pod vision, strategy, roadmap and priorities for Citizen Development and Employee Technology Experience, ensuring alignment to enterprise objectives, portfolio priorities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Operate and launch and then continuously improve the Citizen Development operating model, including scope, intake, prioritization, decision rights, solution classification, lifecycle oversight, support model, escalation paths and value measurement.
  • Enable governed adoption of Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate and approved low-code/no-code capabilities, with clear boundaries between employee-led solutions and work requiring business-led or technology-led delivery.
  • Maintain practical guardrails for safe innovation, including solution registration, ownership, risk tiering, control gates, security review, privacy considerations and operational supportability.
  • Identify employee technology friction across corporate and advisor communities and sponsor practical improvements that improve productivity, adoption, service experience and confidence in technology.
  • Lead employee technology communications, TechTalks, digital learning content, short video learning, tech tips, onboarding support and awareness campaigns that make technology easier to understand and adopt.
  • Manage and refine the pod backlog, making informed trade-offs across value, risk, cost, capacity, quality, employee experience, technical sustainability and operational impact.
  • Coordinate agile planning, backlog refinement, sprint execution, reviews and retrospectives to maintain delivery discipline, transparency and momentum.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and feedback to pod team members; partner with Product and Delivery Chapters on standards, capability development, staffing and best practices.
  • Build strong partnerships across business teams, Technology, Security, Risk, Privacy, Architecture, Service Management, enterprise platform teams and corporate support functions.
  • Communicate roadmaps, progress, risks, decisions, dependencies and performance clearly to stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Track measures for adoption, employee experience, productivity, business value, cost, operational health, risk and supportability, and use insights to improve priorities and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Digital Transformation or a related field required; equivalent experience considered an asset
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in enterprise technology, digital workplace, product, automation, artificial intelligence, employee experience, service management or technology delivery
  • Experience supporting strategies, operating models, roadmaps, governance frameworks and measurable outcomes for enterprise technology capabilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Power Automate and related enterprise technology environments
  • Strong understanding of governance, security, privacy, technology risk, operational resilience and support models in a regulated environment
  • Ability to translate emerging technology into practical employee and business value
  • Strong communication, influencing, stakeholder-management and decision-framing skills
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary work, manage priorities and coordinate delivery across organizational boundaries
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, change-oriented and outcome-focused leadership style
  • Passion for improving employee technology experience, reducing friction and enabling safe, governed innovation

What Success Looks Like

Success means employees can confidently adopt technology and safely improve how work gets done; technology friction is visible and addressed; Citizen Development operates within clear boundaries and guardrails; and leaders have reliable visibility into adoption, employee experience, business value, cost, operational health and risk.
