Job description

Your future role on our team

You’ll report to the Construction Director and play a key role in expanding BBA's construction management and constructability capabilities in British Columbia.

Based mainly in our Vancouver office, you’ll work closely with engineering and project management teams to integrate construction expertise into projects, from early-stage studies to detailed engineering, procurement and execution. You’ll help shape construction strategies, improve execution methodologies and make sure constructability is factored in throughout the engineering process.

You’ll also develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and industry partners to expand BBA's presence and construction management services in the province and strengthen the regional Project Management Office (PMO), supporting best practices and building local expertise.

While the role focuses on engineering project support, business development and regional capability building, you may occasionally be assigned to construction sites to support execution, provide construction leadership or address specific client needs.

With us, you’ll get the opportunity to...

Engineering and project execution

  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to integrate construction expertise into project development, design and procurement activities
  • Develop construction execution strategies, methodologies, schedules and preliminary construction management plans during engineering studies and project development
  • Lead and facilitate constructability reviews, identifying opportunities to improve project execution, cost efficiency, safety and schedule performance
  • Provide construction-related input to engineering teams, including construction sequencing, site logistics, contracting strategies and execution risks
  • Support project teams in developing procurement and contracting strategies, drawing upon your knowledge of construction markets and contractor capabilities

Business development and regional growth

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, construction contractors and industry partners throughout British Columbia
  • Identify and contribute to business development opportunities involving construction management, constructability and project execution services
  • Help prepare proposals, client presentations and project execution strategies
  • Work with regional leadership and the PMO to expand BBA's construction management service offerings and market presence in British Columbia
  • Help develop regional expertise, resources and partnerships to support future project opportunities

Construction management and PMO development

  • Help implement and continuously improve BBA's construction management and constructability practices, tools and procedures
  • Support the regional PMO in standardizing project execution processes and integrating construction management expertise into multidisciplinary projects
  • Prepare and review construction management plans, including health and safety, quality assurance, environmental management and contract administration requirements
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to project teams during construction, including occasional site assignments, when required
  • Support construction contract administration, change management, contractor coordination and construction progress monitoring, as applicable to project mandates
  • Promote professional, ethical and collaborative relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders
  • Coach and mentor colleagues by helping develop construction management and constructability expertise within the Vancouver office
