About the Opportunity
Are you a CPA with strong financial modelling expertise and a track record of driving growth through acquisitions? We're seeking a Director of Finance to join a growing Canadian technology-enabled services organization operating in the compliance, background screening, and digital identity verification space.

Reporting directly to the CEO and presenting financial insights to the Board of Directors, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening financial governance, protecting profitability, and supporting an ambitious buy-and-build growth strategy. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where your analytical expertise and commercial judgment will directly influence business decisions.

What's In It for You
• Competitive base salary and performance-based bonus tied to measurable financial outcomes.
• Direct exposure to executive leadership, board-level decision-making, and acquisition strategy.
• Opportunity to build scalable financial processes and shape the finance function within a growing organization.
• A collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where your expertise and ideas make a tangible impact.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll lead financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow oversight, internal controls, and audit readiness, partnering closely with the Controller.
• You'll develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate pricing, profitability, acquisition opportunities, financing structures, and investment returns.
• You'll support buy-side M&A activities, including financial due diligence, EBITDA validation, acquisition valuations, and post-acquisition financial integration.
• You'll establish pricing frameworks, analyze transactional costs, and identify opportunities to protect margins and improve commercial performance.
• You'll build KPI dashboards and deliver accurate, actionable financial reporting to the CEO and Board.
• You'll oversee multi-provincial tax compliance and transition appropriate outsourced accounting activities in-house.

Skills and Qualifications
• Significant progressive experience in financial controllership and finance leadership, including hands-on financial analysis, reporting, and modelling.
• Mandatory Canadian CPA designation in good standing. A CFA designation is considered an additional asset but does not replace the CPA requirement.
• Proven buy-side M&A experience, specifically supporting growth through acquisitions and buy-and-build strategies.
• Exceptional quantitative abilities, advanced Excel proficiency, and demonstrated expertise building, validating, and challenging complex financial models.
• Financial experience within technology-enabled services, SaaS, high-volume transactional businesses, or digital affiliate networks.
• Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to translate detailed financial analysis into strategic recommendations.
• Experience developing financial controls, managing budgets, and communicating effectively with executive leadership and boards.

Note from the Hiring Manager
"We're looking for a hands-on finance leader who loves getting into the numbers, challenges assumptions, and understands how acquisitions can drive growth. Someone who can bring structure to our financial operations while helping us make smarter, more profitable decisions."
