Whether you are an experienced mining professional or looking to take the next step in your career, Red Chris offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and a significant transformation in the future of mining in northwest B.C.

At Red Chris Mine, we’re building more than a mine — we’re building a sustainable workforce and operational model to support the future for our people, our communities and the region. When you join the Red Chris team, you become part of a workplace that values safety, respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Your Contribution

Lead the regional project controls function for major capital projects by establishing best-in-class systems, processes, and teams that enable accurate forecasting, risk management, performance reporting, and informed decision-making. You will provide strategic leadership across planning, cost control, estimating, scheduling, reporting, and governance to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives. As a trusted advisor to project directors, senior executives, and investment committees, you will translate complex project data into clear insights and recommendations that protect value, strengthen capital discipline, and support timely, confident decisions. You will also build the long-term capability of the function, developing people, standardising practices, and embedding a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the project portfolio.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Lead project controls strategy, systems, and processes across a portfolio of large-scale projects.
  • Drive excellence in planning, scheduling, cost management, forecasting, estimation, and reporting.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Project Controls Managers and project controls teams across the region.
  • Establish and maintain integrated project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance measurement systems.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on project performance, risks, trends, and corrective actions.
  • Lead project risk management activities, including assessments, mitigation planning, and contingency management.
  • Foster strong collaboration between project, engineering, finance, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Oversee audits, governance reviews, and compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with project sponsors, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Model and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring project controls practices support safe delivery and visible, values-led leadership.
  • Support capital governance and stage-gate processes, including independent cost and schedule reviews, investment decision packages, and approval documentation.
  • Oversee change control, contract and commercial performance tracking, and the timely assessment of scope, cost, and schedule impacts.
  • Drive digital transformation of project controls, leveraging automation, data analytics, and predictive insights to improve forecast accuracy and decision speed.
  • Plan and allocate project controls resources across the portfolio, and lead recruitment, succession planning, coaching, and development of team members.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience leading project controls functions on large capital projects within mining, resources, infrastructure, construction, or oil & gas industries.
  • Deep expertise in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost control, forecasting, risk management, and performance reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of project controls tools and systems, including Primavera P6, SAP/Oracle ERP platforms, Power BI, EcoSys, Tableau, or similar solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), change management, project governance, and project assurance frameworks.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and influencing senior stakeholders in complex project environments.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, AIPM CPPM/CPPE, or equivalent are highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with PMBOK, AACE International (AACEI), IPA, CII, or similar industry frameworks preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven experience supporting capital approval and stage-gate frameworks, including independent reviews of cost estimates, schedules, and contingency.
  • Sound understanding of contracting strategies, commercial arrangements, and cost-reimbursable and fixed-price contract performance management.
  • Strong analytical and data literacy skills, with the ability to turn complex information into concise, decision-ready insights for executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, introduce new systems and ways of working, and build capability in diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
  • A genuine commitment to safety, integrity, and collaborative, values-led leadership.

Your Work Environment

You will operate in a highly visible leadership role supporting major projects across the region. Working closely with project leadership, engineering, finance, project services, and external partners, you will lead a large project controls function responsible for delivering reliable project intelligence and governance. This role offers the opportunity to shape project delivery outcomes, mentor high-performing teams, and contribute to some of the organization's most strategic capital investments.

You will lead a team of Project Controls Managers and specialists, set the standard for how project performance is measured and reported, and act as a key voice in portfolio-level discussions on cost, schedule, and risk. The role combines strategic influence with hands-on engagement, requiring regular interaction with project sites and delivery teams, and some travel across the region should be expected.
