Drafting Project Manager - Glazing

About Bothwell-Accurate

Bothwell-Accurate Co. Inc. has been a leader in roofing, waterproofing, cladding and glazing services across Ontario and British Columbia for over 90 years. With more than 60,000 completed projects, we’re known for delivering high-quality, innovative and reliable building envelope solutions to commercial, industrial and institutional clients.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Drafting Project Manager to join our team in Mississauga. In this role, you will lead the technical detailing, shop drawing preparation, and multidisciplinary coordination for complex architectural glazing projects. You will act as a pivotal link between design concepts, architectural specifications, structural engineering, and shop floor manufacturing.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative lead designer/technologist with deep expertise in unitized and stick curtain wall systems, storefronts, and architectural metal cladding, possessing strong skills in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of complete architectural shop drawing packages, structural connection details, glass schedules, and anchor layouts.
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to generate parametric 3D models, die profiles, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and fabrication cut sheets for shop production.
  • Coordinate architectural glazing designs with structural, mechanical, civil, and building envelope consultants to resolve site conditions and structural loads.
  • Review and respond to RFIs, architectural revisions, addenda, shop drawings, submittals, and construction-phase documentation.
  • Assist with project schedules, deliverables, and coordination efforts to meet project deadlines.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Respond to technical questions and assist with the resolution of design and construction issues.
  • Conduct site visits and assist with field observations and documentation.
  • Support the Project Manager and drafting team throughout all phases of the project.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff as appropriate.
  • Help maintain office standards, drawing standards, templates, and project documentation procedures.
  • Ensure work complies with applicable building codes, zoning requirements, accessibility standards, and other regulations.

What You Bring to the Team

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Architectural Technology, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of direct professional experience in architectural glazing, curtain wall detailing, or building envelope manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial glazing systems (unitized/stick curtain wall, window wall, skylights, interior glass, metal panels), rainscreen principles, thermal performance, and air/water barrier integration.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and consultants.
  • Solid understanding of building codes (OBC/NBC), structural deflection criteria, and wind-load considerations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills for liaising with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and shop personnel.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (3D parametric assemblies/part modeling) and AutoCAD (2D detailing and layout).
  • Experience with project collaboration and document-management platforms is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Teams, Outlook) and PDF markup software (Bluebeam Revu).
  • Familiarity with Revit / BIM coordination workflows.
