Job Description

Solidigm is seeking a Senior Facilities Manager to lead the safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operation of its Vancouver workplace. As the primary on-site Corporate Services contact, this individual independently owns site facility performance, contractor coordination, building maintenance, workplace services, and delivery of complex capital and operational projects. The Senior Facilities Manager carries broader autonomy and strategic scope than a Facilities Manager, taking on more complex budgets and capital programs and, where assigned, people or multi-site leadership. The role partners closely with the Regional Facilities Manager, Global Corporate Services leadership, EHS, Security, IT, Procurement, property management, and local business groups to maintain a productive employee experience and continuously improve site performance.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Reliability

  • Own day-to-day operation, maintenance, inspections, and service quality for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, building automation, fire-life-safety, and applicable lab support systems.
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance, work orders, asset records, and contractor response using ServiceNow or an equivalent CMMS.
  • Identify operational risks, coordinate troubleshooting and repairs, escalate critical issues, and lead after-hours emergency response and business continuity planning.
  • Maintain facility standards, track deficiencies through closure, and use reliability trends to prioritize improvements.

Safety, Compliance & Emergency Preparedness

  • Champion a safety-first culture and coordinate with EHS on inspections, audits, training, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
  • Administer contractor safety requirements, Permit-to-Work procedures, applicable lockout/tagout controls, and required work-at-height or hot-work authorizations.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections, fire-life-safety testing, emergency preparedness activities, drills, and compliance documentation.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Lead service provider performance for hard and soft services, including maintenance, janitorial, and other workplace vendors.
  • Develop scopes of work, obtain and evaluate bids, monitor service agreements and KPIs, verify completed work, and resolve performance issues.
  • Lead complex, strategic vendor decisions and partner with Procurement on purchasing, contract renewals, invoice validation, and cost-effective sourcing.

Projects, Budgets & Reporting

  • Plan and execute approved renovations, HVAC and lighting upgrades, automation improvements, and other capital or operational projects, including more complex, multi-phase initiatives.
  • Own project schedules, site coordination, contractor access, safety, quality, stakeholder communication, and closeout documentation.
  • Lead complex capital planning and multi-year asset planning in partnership with regional leadership.
  • Develop and monitor OPEX and CAPEX budgets, forecasts, variances, and business cases.
  • Report maintenance completion, service levels, project milestones, incidents, budget performance, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Business Partnership & Workplace Experience

  • Serve as the primary facilities contact for Vancouver business groups and represent Corporate Services professionally and responsively.
  • Coordinate soft services, breakroom and employee amenities, workplace requests, and on-site event logistics.
  • Partner across EHS, IT, Security, HR, property management, and global teams to minimize disruption and improve employee experience.

Leadership & Accountability

  • Independently prioritize competing site needs, communicate decisions and risks, and maintain consistent follow-through with broad autonomy.
  • Lead vendor teams and, where assigned, direct employees; coach service partners and reinforce collaborative, inclusive working practices.
  • Lead more complex capital planning, strategic vendor decisions, and multi-year asset planning, and may take on responsibility for additional activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of progressively responsible facilities, corporate workplace, building operations, or property management experience, including independent site leadership, complex projects, budgets, and vendor performance accountability.
  • Working knowledge of commercial building systems, preventive maintenance, safety procedures, contractor management, and emergency response.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms (ServiceNow preferred), Microsoft Office, KPI reporting, budgeting, and project coordination.
  • Strong communication, judgment, stakeholder management, and organizational skills; proven ability to work independently and lead through influence.
  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Preferred: experience in corporate technology or lab environments, multi-site operations, energy efficiency initiatives, and CFM/FMP or comparable credentials.
