Job description

Making Canada a safer place to live and work for over 90 years.

As Canada's trusted safety partner since 1935, we work alongside customers coast to coast to help ensure people return home safely at the end of every shift.

We are open to hiring either locally or on a fly-in/fly-out basis. LOA may be available for local hires; for FIFO employees, flights and accommodations are provided.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Field Training Specialist to develop, coach, and support new and existing Service Technicians working in industrial and mining environments. This is a hands-on role focused on building technical capability, reinforcing safety standards, and ensuring technicians are field-ready and fully compliant.

You’ll split your time between field-based coaching and classroom-style training, working closely with supervisors to strengthen team performance and consistency across all service areas.

What You’ll Do

  • Train and onboard new Service Technicians through probation and field readiness
  • Deliver hands-on and classroom training in field operations, safety, and technical systems
  • Coach technicians and supervisors on safe work practices and quality execution
  • Conduct field audits, inspections, and competency assessments at customer sites
  • Support certification training (TDG, hydro testing, fire suppression systems, etc.)
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation
  • Identify skill gaps and support continuous improvement across teams
  • Partner with leadership on onboarding, investigations, and corrective actions

What You Bring

  • 10+ years’ experience in fire protection / suppression or related industrial field services
  • Strong background across multiple disciplines (e.g., fire suppression, alarms, sprinkler, SCBA, fall protection, hydro testing, special hazards)
  • Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments
  • Previous training, coaching, or senior technician experience is an asset
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Comfortable delivering training in both field and classroom settings
  • Strong communication and ability to coach others effectively
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic systems/databases
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract

Why Join Us

  • Play a key role in developing the next generation of field technicians
  • High-impact position with visibility across field operations
  • Work in challenging, hands-on industrial environments
  • Opportunity to shape training programs and safety culture

Safety First Culture

As a key position in driving our safety culture, you must demonstrate a proven track record of supporting and contributing to our “Choose the Safe Way, Always” fundamental. This includes:

  • Actively leading and participating in safety talks
  • Responding quickly and effectively to incident investigations
  • Consistently completing all required safety documentation
