One of Canada’s Most Trusted Investment Brands.

At Picton Mahoney Asset Management (PICTON Investments), being alternative isn’t just what we do, it’s who we are.

Founded by industry pioneer David Picton, we’ve spent 20 years challenging conventional wisdom and redefining the investing landscape. As one of Canada’s most trusted investment brands, we are proudly independent, privately run, 100% employee-owned, and deeply committed to delivering results for our clients.

Thinking Alternatively is in Our DNA.

With a team of 250 bold thinkers - one-third dedicated solely to investment management - we are specialists, not generalists. Managing over $20.8 billion (October 31, 2026) for institutional and retail clients, we navigate markets with conviction, resilience, and a forward-thinking approach.

We’re more than investors we’re innovators. We challenge traditional investment mindsets, constantly pushing the boundaries to achieve our mission: To bring greater certainty to investors.

Our success is built on four guiding principles:

  • Treat investors’ money like our own.
  • Redefine the way investors invest.
  • Be human, always approachable.
  • Succeed together, one investment at a time.

These aren’t just words. They define how we think, how we invest, and how we work.

Now, we’re entering our next chapter. We’re transforming our brand and reshaping the way the world invests. If you think alternatively, embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, and thrive in a dynamic, bureaucracy-free environment, join us and be part of what’s next.

Thriving in Our Entrepreneurial Culture

At PICTON Investments, you’ll thrive in our creative and dynamic workplace, where collaboration and support are at the core of everything we do. At our firm, you’ll have the opportunity to take on significant responsibilities, work in a flexible environment, and tackle challenging projects from the outset. Our culture is designed for ambitious professionals who want to make an immediate impact while continuing to push boundaries and achieve our greater mission. You’ll be empowered with a high level of responsibility, trust, and flexibility, providing an exciting and creative space for you to help reshape how the world views alternative investments. With competitive total rewards, performance-based bonuses, and a clear path for career growth, you’ll have everything you need to develop both now and over the longer term.

The Opportunity

Lead how advisors experience PICTON Investments. We are currently looking for a Lead, Advisor Engagement & Events to develop and deliver an integrated advisor engagement and events program that supports relationship development, territory priorities and our growth objectives.

The level of strategic ownership will vary by event. For Sales-led advisor events, you may help shape the strategy, audience, format and objectives with Sales Leadership and Sales Enablement. For Marketing-led, firm-wide or brand-focused events, you will translate Marketing’s strategy, positioning and brand direction into a cohesive event experience and execution plan.

Working across Marketing, Sales, Sales Enablement, Compliance, Product, Finance and other partners, you will lead or coordinate end-to-end planning and delivery based on clear roles and decision rights. You will oversee event operations, vendors, budgets, scalable resources and post-event measurement to deliver professional, consistent and compliant experiences.

The expected annual base salary for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 with the final number depending on your experience, skills, and education. On top of that, you’ll be eligible for our discretionary bonus program.

At PICTON Investments, being employee-owned means we really take care of our team. Eligible employees get access to a full benefits package, including profit sharing, health and wellness coverage, life and disability insurance, paid time off and holidays, learning and development programs, and more, many of which are fully covered or subsidized by us.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn and lead:

Strategy & Planning

  • Build and maintain an integrated annual and quarterly event calendar aligned with business initiatives, product launches, sales campaigns, brand priorities and territory plans.
  • Establish event objectives, audiences, formats and measures of success with the function that owns the strategy, contributing strategic input and translating the agreed direction into an actionable plan.
  • Serve as the primary event resource for Wholesalers, ISAs and BDAs, enabling self-service for repeatable formats and leading larger, multi-territory events.

Event Delivery & Compliance

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of signature events, due diligence programs, regional advisor events, national meetings and Sales offsites, including workplans, budgets, logistics and onsite operations.
  • Partner with Compliance to ensure events are planned and delivered within firm requirements, coordinating reviews and approvals.
  • Lead post-event wrap-up, reconciliation and debriefs.

Vendors, Budgets & Measurement

  • Source and manage venues and suppliers, negotiate contracts and track spending against approved budgets.
  • Track attendance, feedback and business outcomes, and report on results, risks and lessons learned.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Repeatable Packages

  • Confirm strategic ownership, decision rights, responsibilities and handoffs with Marketing, Sales Leadership, Sales Enablement, Compliance, Product, Finance and other stakeholders at the outset of each event.
  • Adapt your role to the event—leading where appropriate, influencing shared decisions or translating another function’s strategy into coordinated execution.
  • Build a centralized events resource and ready-to-use event packages (formats, sample budgets, timelines, approvals and run-of-show) that territories can adapt.

National & International Event Planning

  • Plan and execute events across Canada and as required, internationally, managing the additional logistical requirements associated with multi-market events, including venues, travel, accommodations, vendors, timelines and on-site execution.
  • Anticipate and coordinate the complexities of events taking place outside the local market, working with internal partners and external vendors to ensure a consistent, high-quality advisor experience regardless of location.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years planning and executing corporate, advisor, client or financial-services events, including leading them end to end.
  • Track record managing a high volume of events across mixed formats (dinners, webinars, roadshows, conferences, due diligence programs), several at once.
  • Experience planning complex events across multiple Canadian markets is required; experience delivering events internationally is a strong asset.
  • Hands-on ownership of significant event budgets, including vendor contracts, purchase orders and reconciliation.
  • Strong project management skills, with a record of delivering on time and on budget. CMP or PMP is an asset.
  • Vendor negotiation experience, with a record of securing cost savings or added value.
  • A commercial mindset, with experience tracking event metrics such as attendance, engagement and opportunities generated.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment and composure during live delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment, using sound judgment to lead, influence or execute through cross-functional partners without direct authority.
  • Experience in asset management, financial services or another regulated industry is an asset, including obtaining Compliance approvals.
  • Must be able to travel as needed across Canada and the USA.
