Job description
Learning Specialist - CorporateIf you're looking for an opportunity to create meaningful learning experiences that help people perform at their best, Bird Construction has an exciting opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Operations Learning, the Operations Learning Specialist - Corporate partners with operations leaders, subject matter experts, and learning team specialists to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions that build capability across the organization.

This role is ideal for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems, and can transform complex information into engaging and practical learning experiences. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with learning specialists, developers, technologists, and facilitators to translate operations requirements into practical learning experiences that support employee growth, business performance, and operational excellence.

What You Will Be Working On

What You Will Be Working On

  • Partner with operations leaders and subject matter experts to understand performance, capability, and learning needs.
  • Gather and analyze stakeholder input, business requirements, operational context, and learner needs to support effective learning solution design.
  • Design and develop learning solutions using a variety of approaches including instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, microlearning, technical training, and performance support resources.
  • Co-create high-quality learning experiences with learning specialists, developers, technologists, facilitators, and external partners.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather requirements, validate concepts, and support solution development.
  • Contribute to project planning activities including estimates, timelines, communications, and implementation planning.

The Skills You’ll Bring & Build

The following five skills sit at the heart of this role. Mastery in all of them isn’t required on day one; however, demonstrated strength in some, and a curiosity and commitment to build skill in them, are required.

  • Consultation – You start with curiosity, listening, and thoughtful questions, then partner with stakeholders to clarify objectives, weigh options, and shape recommendations.
  • Collaboration — You build trusted working relationships and partner effectively across teams and functions by sharing knowledge openly, inviting diverse perspectives, incorporating feedback, and contributing to shared outcomes.
  • Performance Needs Analysis – You identify gaps between current and desired capability by gathering and interpreting stakeholder input, performance data, learner insights, and job requirements. You use those insights to help define solution requirements and inform learning design decisions.
  • Learning Solution Design & Creation -- You diagnose capability needs before you design, translate business needs into clear objectives and engaging learning experiences, and develop high-quality learning assets that support knowledge transfer, skill development, and workplace application.
  • Learning Enablement & Evaluation – You understand what makes learning reliable at scale including learning technologies, publishing workflows, accessibility, learner administration, and data quality, and contribute to solutions that work effectively within those realities. You use evaluation data to monitor impact and support continuous improvement.
