Job description

Join Astro Towing as a Light Duty Operator!

Astro Towing has proudly been serving Saskatchewan for over 50 years, providing emergency roadside service, towing, accident and abandoned vehicle recovery, and hauling services to our community and partners. We pride ourselves on being able to take on any job – big, small or complicated, delivering excellent customer service, operating safely and efficiently, and employing passionate professionals to meet the needs of our customers.

As a Light Duty Operator, you’ll respond to roadside calls and towing requests, helping drivers when they need it most.
You’ll assess each situation and determine the safest and most effective way to provide service — whether that means towing a disabled vehicle, assisting with roadside issues, or securing vehicles for transport. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.

We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and this position works rotational shifts, including a combination of days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Providing towing and roadside assistance in a safe, professional, and timely manner
  • Assessing roadside situations and determining the best and safest way to deliver service
  • Securing and transporting vehicles using proper towing equipment and procedures
  • Communicating with dispatch through our towing application to manage calls and availability
  • Inspecting vehicles and equipment before service and documenting vehicle condition when required
  • Delivering friendly, respectful customer service during stressful situations
  • Processing service charges and collecting payments when required
  • Maintaining your truck and towing equipment so it’s ready for service
  • Assisting around the yard or compound when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Friendly, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in vehicles
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
  • Comfortable using smartphone or web-based applications
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

An acceptable criminal record check is required. As a safety-sensitive position, it also requires clear pre-employment and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana). Visit www.astrotowing.ca to learn more about us!

Please Note: This position is listed under our parent company, G2 Enterprises; however, the role is employed directly by Astro Towing.
