Job description

The Logic is now accepting applications for the full-time position of manager, product operations.

We are an independent, made-in-Canada digital media company founded in 2018 with the belief that Canadians will pay for great journalism. Combining exclusive news, in-depth reporting, insightful analysis and smart curation, we confront the critical questions that shape this country’s economic future. We are headquartered in Toronto, with bureaus in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Montreal.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented manager of product operations with excellent project management skills to lead daily product operations and manage cross-functional workflows across The Logic’s commercial team. This role requires a highly organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work collaboratively with internal teams, external vendors and clients. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical instincts, clear communications, and enjoys balancing multiple priorities.

Reporting to the director of product & subscription revenue, this person will take ownership in the areas of project management, IT vendor management, digital production needs across sponsorships, advertising, events and marketing, and subscriber support.

This is a full-time staff job with a salary range of $69,764 to $93,019. It is ideally based in Toronto, where The Logic offers a hybrid work arrangement. An exceptional candidate may be based elsewhere in Canada.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage workflow on projects across departments to ensure timely completion and alignment with company goals.
  • Own the management of relationships with IT vendors (ie. website, app, promotional and organizational systems), ensuring smooth operations, addressing issues and proposing alternative solutions as needed.
  • Lead product documentation and launch coordination. Collaborate with the product team on QA and market research.
  • Provide subscription and customer support, including account management, technical assistance and client communications. Identify and lead improvements to support processes and workflows.
  • Own workflow on commercial production needs, including sponsorships, advertising, newsletters and marketing communications, ensure deliverables are executed accurately and on schedule, and propose improvements to workflow as needed.

Who you are:

  • Experience leading multiple competing projects and workflows at once, balancing priorities, deadlines and stakeholders to keep everything moving.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Hubspot, Jira, or similar).
  • Comfortable working with new technologies and liaising with technical vendors.
  • Takes initiative to spot problems and opportunities for improvement, and brings forward recommended solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits of working at The Logic:

  • Competitive compensation package with generous paid time off and equity options
  • Comprehensive benefits plan including parental leave top-up, fertility coverage, dental, vision, HSA, EAP, and more
  • Professional development opportunities

Work arrangements at The Logic:
