Role and Facility Information

Come join our existing team of five pediatricians at Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) in Penticton! This position offers a broad scope of general pediatric practice within a friendly, easygoing, and supportive team environment.

We have a well-equipped ward with 10 inpatient beds shared with adult services. We also have a Level 1 nursery for infants born at 36 weeks’ gestation or later. Maternity care is shared among six obstetricians, a group of midwives, and the South Okanagan Maternity Clinic.

This position is fully supported by electronic medical records, integrated among the collaborating pediatricians. Hospital duties include consultations in the Emergency Department, Labour and Delivery, and inpatient ward coverage. We also participate in the regional assessment team for complex developmental disabilities, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and autism programs, as well as periodically offer optional outreach clinics to the Penticton Indian Band and Princeton.

Clinic space is available. Join a group of three well-established pediatricians in a newly renovated outpatient clinic, just five minutes from the hospital and in the heart of downtown Penticton. Experienced secretarial staff are shared among the group, so no additional hiring of Medical Office Assistants is necessary. Overhead and MOA costs are shared, minimal, and prorated based on use.

Periodic teaching of first-year family medicine residents, pediatric residents, and third- and fourth-year medical students will be expected. Leadership development opportunities are available through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program.

Practising as a pediatrician in Penticton offers a fulfilling career with opportunities for a well-balanced mix of patients, along with an active lifestyle in one of Canada's warmest regions.

We are excited to welcome passionate, hardworking pediatricians to our team at PRH, including both experienced physicians and new graduates. Locum applications are also welcome. Apply today to live, work, and play where others only vacation! It's better here!
