Job description

Join a respected independent family-owned pharmacy in Gander, NL, located adjacent to a busy medical clinic with 3 physicians. We offer a patient-focused practice where relationships, professionalism, and quality care matter. Unlike big box pharmacies, our emphasis is healthcare. We specialize in prescription services, medical equipment, over-the-counter medications, and patient aids — without giftware, confectionary, lotto, or heavily scented retail products.

You’ll join a supportive team consisting of 2 pharmacists (including pharmacist-owner), 1 registered pharmacy technician and 3 pharmacy assistants. We offer the stability and benefits of a large chain with the flexibility and appreciation of an independent pharmacy. Workflow is steady and manageable, with an excellent work/life balance: No evenings, Sundays or holidays, and only one 3-hour Saturday shift every third weekend. Experience is an asset, but aptitude and attitude matter most.

Responsibilities

    Reporting directly to the Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will play a key role in daily operations. You will;

    • Maintain compliance with provincial and federal laws, CPNL standards, and third-party requirements
    • Provide safe, effective, and patient-centered prescription dispensing
    • Counsel patients on the proper and safe use of medication, potential side effects and interactions
    • Support and expand clinical services, such as medication reviews, compliance packaging, injections and immunizations, and minor ailment prescribing
    • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care,
    • Oversee pharmacy workflow, supporting technicians and assistants, and ensuring efficient operation.

Requirements

    • Licensed and in good standing with CPNL, or eligible for licensure
    • Injection certified
    • Experience preferred but new grads welcome to apply
    • Excellent clinical, communication and patient interaction skills
    • Self-directed and able to work independently

Benefits

    • 4 weeks paid vacation
    • Store discount
    • Dental and extended health plan (extensive coverage) available at start
    • All CPNL and PANL fees paid directly (no need for reimbursement)
    • Paid continuing education
