Help shape the future of our enterprise technology landscape.

We’re looking for a Principal Enterprise Architect who can set enterprise-wide technology direction while staying close to the solutions that bring that strategy to life. Reporting to the Vice President, Data & Enterprise Architecture, you’ll combine enterprise architecture leadership with deep solution architecture expertise, helping define our target-state technology architecture while leading the end-to-end architecture for select strategic and complex initiatives. This is a hands-on architecture role for a strong technologist who can move comfortably between enterprise strategy, solution design and detailed technical conversations with engineers, delivery teams, vendors and technology partners.

What will you be doing?

  • Enterprise Architecture:
    • Define and evolve enterprise architecture principles, standards, reference architectures and target-state technology direction.
    • Translate business strategy and transformation priorities into practical technology roadmaps and architectural decisions across applications, cloud, infrastructure, security, integration, data, AI and automation.
    • Identify opportunities to simplify the technology landscape, reduce technical debt, and improve scalability, resilience and reuse.
    • Act as a technical expert for complex, strategic and cross-domain architecture decisions, establishing practical guardrails that support delivery and long-term technology direction.
  • Solution Architecture:
    • Serve as the Solution Architect for select complex or high-priority initiatives, accountable for end-to-end technical solution architecture from concept through implementation.
    • Translate business and functional requirements into secure, scalable, resilient and supportable solutions spanning applications, cloud, infrastructure, security, integration, data, identity, AI and third-party technologies.
    • Define key technical decisions, system interactions, integration patterns, deployment approaches and non-functional requirements.
    • Partner with engineers, technical leads, delivery teams and vendors to ensure solutions can be successfully built, implemented and operated.
    • Lead architecture and design reviews, identifying risks, dependencies, constraints and opportunities for simplification or reuse.
    • Guide trade-offs involving security, performance, scalability, resilience, maintainability, cost and speed to market.
    • Provide technical leadership to contract Solution Architects supporting major projects or programmes.
  • Systems Integration and Integration Architecture:
    • Guide projects and domain leads in selecting the right integration approach, including API-led, event-driven, real-time, asynchronous and batch-based patterns.
    • Provide architecture direction for complex integrations involving CRM, contact centre, payments, lending platforms, cloud services, data platforms and third-party partners.
    • Review integration designs for security, identity, resilience, observability, performance and operational readiness.
    • Partner with Integration leadership and delivery teams to advance modern, scalable and reusable integration capabilities.
  • Cloud, Infrastructure and Security Architecture:
    • Provide architecture leadership across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, including cloud, hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
    • Apply infrastructure architecture expertise across networking, compute, storage, identity, resilience, observability and disaster recovery.
    • Embed security, privacy and identity considerations into architecture and solution design from the outset.
    • Review and challenge cloud, infrastructure and vendor-proposed architectures to ensure appropriate security, reliability, performance, scalability, cost and operational supportability.
  • Financial Services Technology:
    • Provide architecture leadership across CRM, contact centre, payments, lending and broader financial services technologies, including customer engagement, payment processing, loan origination, underwriting, decisioning and servicing.
    • Apply a strong understanding of the security, data, integration and regulatory considerations associated with financial services technology.
    • Develop target-state architectures and multi-year platform roadmaps that modernise legacy technologies, reduce duplication and simplify the enterprise technology landscape.
  • AI and Automation Architecture:
    • Design and lead enterprise AI and automation environments and enabling technologies.
    • Establish scalable architecture patterns for Generative AI, AI agents, machine learning, intelligent automation and workflow technologies.
    • Design secure integration of AI and automation capabilities with enterprise applications, data platforms, APIs and business processes.
    • Establish technical guardrails and guide teams from proof of concept through secure, scalable and production-ready implementation.
    • Partner with Data, Security, Infrastructure and Application teams on privacy, identity, responsible AI, monitoring, resilience, cost and operational support, while evaluating emerging technologies for enterprise adoption.
  • Technology Governance and Leadership:
    • Serve as an advocate for strong architecture, engineering and technology practices.
    • Actively participate in the Architecture Review Board, AI Council, Enterprise Data Council and other authoritative technology forums.
    • Build alignment across Architecture, Data, AI, Security, Infrastructure, Engineering, Applications and Integration to support sound technology decisions.

What experience do you have?

  • 15+ years of progressive technology experience, including 10+ years across Solution, Platform and/or Enterprise Architecture, with significant hands-on Solution Architecture experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end technical solutions for large-scale, highly integrated enterprise initiatives, from concept through implementation and production.
  • Proven ability to operate at both the Enterprise and Solution Architecture levels, moving between target-state strategy and detailed solution design.
  • Strong architecture experience across Microsoft Azure and AWS, including cloud, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, with solid security and infrastructure architecture expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, API management, systems integration, event-driven architecture, messaging, middleware, microservices and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience with enterprise technologies supporting CRM, contact centres, payments, lending and broader financial services.
  • Experience architecting enterprise AI, Generative AI, intelligent automation or related technology environments.
  • Good understanding of modern data architecture and how data platforms support operational, analytical, automation and AI workloads.
  • Experience leading technology modernisation, large-scale transformation and the evaluation of strategic technologies and vendor architectures.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership to Solution Architects, engineers, vendors and implementation partners through expertise and influence.
  • Experience in financial services, lending, payments or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and relevant cloud, security or architecture certifications are assets; however, practical technical capability and implementation experience are more important than framework expertise.
