Job description

We are seeking a detail-driven and proactive Product Solutions Designer to join Teknion’s Canadian Product Solutions Design (PSD) team. This role supports Canadian dealers, corporate accounts, and internal teams by delivering accurate specifications, product layouts, and design solutions that align with Teknion’s product standards and client needs.

Act as a CET resource and consistently take initiative to improve processes and deliverables. We’re looking for someone resourceful, eager to learn, able to work with low supervision, and always willing to take on more when opportunities arise.

What is this role responsible for?

Project & Specification Support

  • Create and maintain drawings and specifications in CET Designer (typicals, floorplans, 3D renderings, BOMs, and quotes).
  • Develop and maintain “standards” documentation for major accounts to ensure consistency and efficiency in recurring projects.
  • Conduct Spec Checks and Audits to verify accuracy, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support large-scale corporate and dealer projects, including RFP responses, deliverable packages, and installation documentation.

Design & Product Application

  • Apply Teknion product knowledge to create effective layouts for workstations, private offices, and ancillary spaces.
  • Assist with finish selections and ensure designs meet code, ADA, and Teknion standards.
  • Stay current with product updates, CET advancements, and industry trends through self-learning and training participation.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with Account Managers, Regional VPs, and dealer designers to define project scope and deliverables.
  • Maintain project tracking in internal systems, providing clear updates on progress and changes.
  • Collaborate with product managers to address custom or complex product needs.

What are the preferred skills and experience for this role?

  • 5+ years experience in contract furniture specification; Teknion experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in CET Designer (Commercial Interiors), AutoCAD, and CAP2020 and Spec.
  • Strong knowledge of systems furniture, electrical/power planning, and corporate workspace layouts.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing workload and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-service mindset.
  • Resourceful problem-solver who is eager to learn and quick to adapt to new tools and processes.
  • Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred.

This position offers an expected base salary range starting at $68,000.00. Final base salary offers will reflect an assessment of the selected candidate's skills, demonstrated competencies, and adherence to our internal pay equity framework.
