We are seeking a Project Manager with experience across both custom software development (SDLC) and packaged software implementations. This role is best described as a project support lead who owns the day-to-day project controls (planning, reporting, tracking, and documentation) while bringing enough implementation experience to identify issues early, anticipate risks, and help shape practical solutions—not just record status.
Key Responsibilities
Project Controls & Delivery Support
- Own the internal project plan, schedule, milestones, and day-to-day project controls.
- Maintain status reporting, meeting notes, and action logs.
- Track and manage risks, issues, decisions, action items, and change requests.
- Maintain current RAID logs and change logs (kept accurate and up to date).
- Follow up on open items; ensure clear owners and due dates for all action items.
- “Chase” inputs and updates from internal teams to keep delivery moving forward.
- Prepare materials for program-manager reviews and client-facing reviews.
- Keep project documentation organized, complete, and audit-ready.
Risk, Issue, and Change Management (Not Just Admin)
- Flag schedule, scope, dependency, and delivery risks early—before escalation is required.
- Spot when work is drifting off track and proactively course-correct.
- Think through the impact of change requests (scope, timeline, dependencies, resourcing).
- Support issue resolution by pulling facts together, clarifying tradeoffs, and proposing practical next-step options.
- Understand implementation work well enough to ask the right questions and help prevent delivery surprises.
What Success Looks Like
- Projects run with strong visibility and control: plans are current, RAID is accurate, and decisions/actions are tracked to completion.
- Risks and delivery blockers are identified early, with clear options and recommended next steps.
- Internal teams and stakeholders experience the PM as a force multiplier who keeps execution moving—not just a note-taker.
Ideal Background / Experience
- Proven experience managing project controls for:
- Custom software development projects (SDLC), and
- Packaged software implementations (vendor-side implementation delivery).
- Comfortable supporting multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
- Strong documentation discipline (status decks, RAID, action logs, change tracking).
- Confident communicator who can drive follow-ups, clarify ownership, and keep stakeholders aligned.
