The Procurement Engineering Reactor Component Manager reports to the Procurement Engineering Technical Director and oversees the timely delivery of pre- and post-order engineering activities required to ensure material, components and equipment are specified, requisitioned, procured, design accepted, and delivered to the project site in support of the construction/installation schedule.

Your role

  • Organizing and monitoring design oversight of outside contracted design work.
  • Fostering a positive team environment and team building between Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Project Controls, and with internal and external customers.
  • Interfacing with project alliance partners to receive design documentation by other partners, raise requisitions, and facilitate technical information exchange to ensure timely manufacturing of equipment aligned with installation dates.
  • Planning and executing work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Forecasting resource demands for the assigned work scope, including skills, capabilities, and durations.
  • Collaborating with clients and overseeing the requisition and manufacturing of equipment in accordance with the signed contract, approved customer specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Managing interfaces between equipment engineering, engineering disciplines, and procurement.
  • Ensuring that the final deliverables meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear codes and standards.
  • Working with marketing and other corporate groups to maintain and improve client relationships and offerings.
  • Identifying and proposing improvements in the areas of the project – both proactively and in response to customer requirements.

About you

  • Engineering degree in a core discipline (Mechanical) from an accredited University.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in a Province of Canada (member in good standing).
  • 10 years of design experience, equipment selection, and manufacturing technical oversight in a heavy industry project delivery environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
  • Minimum 5 years of nuclear and/or CANDU technology experience.
