Job description

You are encouraged to apply even if you think your profile does not meet all the criteria.

Republik is a creative agency on a mission to transform the marketing industry. We believe that organizations can grow while reshaping collective imagination to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and responsible world.

We're looking for an experienced account manager who can hit the ground running, earn clients' trust and independently lead a project from brief to delivery. You'll take charge of a diverse portfolio of accounts, from non-profits and regional SMEs to major national brands, with a significant share of impact-driven organizations. As the go-to person for your clients, the internal team and our external partners, you'll have a front-row seat to spot opportunities to grow these accounts.

Alright, so what's the job?

The job is to change the world through the Creation of Social Capital™. But if you want us to be more precise, here's what you'll be doing:

  • Be the main point of contact for your clients and build close relationships with them, grounded in a deep understanding of their business challenges.
  • Lead your projects from A to Z: brief, estimate, quote, timeline, budget tracking, delivery and wrap-up.
  • Ensure the profitability of your accounts: track hours and budgets, anticipate overruns and manage out-of-scope requests.
  • Coordinate internal teams (strategy, creative, production, media) and bring in the right resources at the right time.
  • Select and manage external partners when a project calls for it (video and photo production, printing, web development): bids, negotiation and quality control.
  • Spot growth opportunities within your accounts and take the lead in making them happen: propose new mandates, build proposals and present them.
  • Advise your clients with a strategic eye: challenge a brief, recommend an approach, stand behind the team's work.
  • Take part in brainstorms and pitches with the strategy and creative teams.
  • Work with the Vice-President, Client Services and Partnerships, to improve the department's processes and tools, including integrating AI into the way we work.

What kind of background are you looking for?

These aren't requirements, but rather guidelines.

Experience

  • At least five years in client services or account management, at an agency or in an equivalent role.
  • Managing multiple accounts and integrated projects at once (digital, print, video, web).
  • Preparing quotes, tracking budgets and being accountable for an account's profitability.
  • Concrete examples of accounts you've grown through new mandates or new services.
  • Managing suppliers and external partners.
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for bilingual writing, presentations, and interactions outside Québec. As an agency that values French, we have maintained this requirement only after concluding that no internal reorganization would allow these functions to be performed otherwise.

Assets

  • Familiarity with tools such as Harvest and Asana.
  • Experience with web projects.
  • Experience with non-profits, impact-driven organizations or regional clients.

Personal skills

  • Business sense that never loses sight of the quality of the creative work.
  • Curiosity that drives you to keep up with what's happening in your clients' industries as well as ours.
  • Comfort with AI tools, which you already use to save time (summaries, proposals, analysis) without ever handing over your judgment.
  • Poise in front of clients, and the ability to say no tactfully when needed.
  • Natural leadership that makes the team want to follow you.
  • Rigour and organization, even under pressure.
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness.
  • A sense of humour and a zest for life: a must at Republik!

And what are the conditions?

Here are some of our employee benefits initiatives:

  • 3 weeks of vacation from day one, plus 2 weeks off between Christmas and New Year's Day;
  • The option to complete your week in 4 days thanks to meeting-free Fridays;
  • A hybrid work model (2 days a week at the office);
  • Full insurance coverage after 3 months of employment, including access to a telemedicine and telepsychology platform;
  • Unlimited paid sick days that can be used for mental health, wellness and/or menstrual leave, no questions asked;
  • Flexibility for parents to care for their children, and sick days for family reasons;
  • The option to work remotely from abroad for six weeks;
  • The option to take unpaid leave or work part-time;
  • $200 per year for all your wellness needs;
  • An RRSP program with employer contributions;
  • 5@7s and cultural events;
  • Monthly training sessions;
  • Paid mentoring sessions if you're aiming for a leadership role or another promotion.
